As a non red i would say you have had worse than konchesky, he was the fallout guy for roys reign, if you actually watched him he was like he always was just a run of the mill solid left back who scored the odd cracker, but what do you expect for £4 million (the small budget roy had with the yanks).

He was a victim of cirmcumstance and the backlash from the previous regime fell at his feet, i felt sorry for the lad, he always gave his all and even if his all wasntr good enough he is justa human being trying to do a job, if someone offers you a move to a club like liverpool on a nice wage you dont say no especially a payer of his quality, but should he be subjected to such attacks because of this, the answer is no, because he did give his all its just his all wasnt good enough, thats not his fault, not his fault at all.

ChrisWood2894 his mum responded to the abuse she and her son were recieving from a small minority of liverpool supporters via the internet, most likely a minority of fans who arent actual fans but never the less, to say his mum was at fault is totally incorrect, she didnt start the tirade of abuse, she just ended it with a firery rant, and so you would hope your on mother would stand up for her son should the same happen to anyone.

I don't see it. He may prefer to stay in Italy if possible but that doesn't naturally mean he hates Liverpool. His bird didn't enjoy herself but he said he wanted to stay last summer. That doesn't sound like a hater.

No, because that mother possibly just ruined her son's career.

As fans, we would have more patience with him if his mum hadn't said those things, hence he would have been given a second chance. Now he's off to finish his career in the championship no doubt on considerably less wages.

He looked pretty happy and jokey on the plane, he also spent a year at Liverpool so it's not like he's a complete stranger.

i just think i've nothing good to say nor anything bad. i sometimes think not saying anything causes less issues on forums sometimes.

in the end thanks to roy we just lost 1.5million at least on the guy plus two players who may or may not have made it. however seeing g&H sold for a loss maybe its them that lost... who knows?

i just shrug my shoulders at him, degen and others cos as an ordinary guy seeing him get millions i nthe past 12 months off of us i don't really want to wish him well.

And former Anfield midfielder Redknapp said: "Liverpool fans, who may have been looking for big money signings, might not appreciate the quality of Paul Konchesky.

"But he's a good signing for Roy Hodgson, who knows what he is getting after they worked together at Fulham last season.

"I played with Paul at Spurs and he's a superb one-on-one defender, with quick feet and who loves the showdown between full-back and winger. It's hard to find good left backs. He's one of them."

aquilani is a different case. To be he's maneauvered all last year for a move. he's not committed to the club therefore should be looked at as a highly valuable asset to be sold off for the best return.

again is it our moeny lost of g&H? who knows.

i feel 10mil has been thrown in the bin.

Aquilani wants to play, which is fair enough but in the end he should realise that he's the crock and we got burned so he owes at least the closed lips of him and his agent. If that were to have occurred everyone would be eager to see him back.

Me? I think merieles is the better player but i'd like to see him fully fit to make a proper assessment.

    Re OP

Roy signed him and he performed badly in that time.

I am sure he is not all that bad, but he has been quite awful in his short cameo, not a player that inspired confidence tbh. Never wanted hm I think is the general concensus, just like Roy.
