Gilly was ok with the stick, but less than that with the gloves. I was a Rod Marsh fan. How the fat bastard could fly as far as he did astounded me. In my long lost days, as a child I was raised on deeds of Wally Grout. According to the old timers, he was wicket keeping's Phar Lap.

Cyc, im waiting for your moan on your boys targeting 350ish after 20ish overs only to come up short of getting 290...!! We shouldn't say too much yet, we havn't batted, but i'd settle for that than what we should have been chasing...

Chasing can be stressful can't it Red? I'm not sure that I'd have sent us in though, but an extra 20 runs would have made me happier. The betting early on was pretty even, but England are into $1.66 now on SportsBet. I guess our arse is in a sling. <laugh>

The thing about baseball for me, is getting started. If I can get through the first couple of innings, I'm there until the finish. I enjoy the game.

I was at Fenway Park when Carl Yastrzemski made his 3000th 'Hit' for the Boston Red Sox!

It was the same holiday I saw The Undertones, Sam and Dave and The Clash at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston.

I would have just qualified for my State Retirement Pension if the Conservative and Unionist Party had not delayed my 'pin' money for eight months!

I have been misbehaving, doing the Bad Boy Boogie, causing shenanigans and generally carousing through life for sixty five years and a month or so on planet Earth!<cheers><cheers><cheers>

Odds have taken a major swing. England out from 4-7 to 3-1, Australia 5-4 into 1-3.

If Australia win the match today how important is it that England at least post a decent total?

Overhyped more like. The media over here have had us winning this thing for about 2 years. Only had to turn up <doh>. Have our work cut out to get to the semis currently.

  15. Happens every bloody time. Been saying we wouldn't make the semis since the tournament started. Expectations go through the roof and the team can't deal with it. And now New Zealand appear to be doing their utmost to beckon us through the trap door <steam>

Yep it's the pressure. These one day tournaments in between world cups that we're decent at are just made for TV events. Nowhere near a World Cup intensity. I though India would win it at the outset and nothing that's happened since has changed my mind. If the Aussie get to the final against them and win the toss in bowler friendly conditions, we might have a game

England still 3rd favs even though they're up against it now even to get to the semis. 9/2 a scandalous price.

Honourable mention must be given to those individuals currently going around shrieking, ‘Ooooooooooooooooooooooooh, ain’t it hot!’. Like the rest of us haven’t noticed and they’ve just had a ‘Eureka’ moment and discovered something sensationally startling!

Since we've had the air con working in the office for a while now, some of the women in here are now complaining it's too cold...!! One's even said she's going to bring her jumper in to work tomorrow if it stays like this...<doh> <yikes> <laugh>
