we're overpaying, but everyone's overpaying. on one level I'm bothered at the fee but on the other I really don't care and am happy to be bringing in players
I asked my wife to go get a BBQ and a bag of charcoal from homebase. She brought home the charcoal, forgot the BBQ, then said "Cook me a steak husband!" I asked "Is Rick Parry your real father"
I get you're just trying to spark debate which is good, it's just that the topic very much falls into the territory of those who are going mad over a lack of transfers, which i think 50% of people here are fed up with. So from a purely hypothetical point of view i would say i think it's too early to say there is a pattern. There is a pattern in Commoli's negotiating style, but i wouldn't say this is leading to us getting held to ransom so far. Also i would say that if for every time we miss out on a Wickham, a Jones and a Young we get a knockdown Luis Suarez level player, a top English prospect (Jordan Henderson) and a big money star (Andy Carroll), then i'm happy with that pattern to continue.
