hmmmm - if it is the spl's fault then what happened to hearts not paying players last year?

oh thats right - you forgot to make payments for lee wallace :)

ps black was a free agent - he would not have been with hearts regardless of signing for rangers <factoidsmiley>

Either he's writing in code for the 'Lodge' members or maybe he's afraid that if he actually writes the word, he could be sued by Vlad ...

[h=1]The Disenfranchised Rabble[/h]September 20, 2012 · by billmcmurdo · in Uncategorized
The days of people using and abusing the massive support of Rangers Football Club are coming to an end.

The SFA and SPL use the enormous power of the Rangers pound to negotiate big bucks deals for their member clubs with TV stations and sponsors. But it has been proven conclusively that it is Rangers supporters who provide the great bulk of audience figures for the likes of BSkyB.

It is the financial power of the collective Rangers fanbase which provides the engine on which Scottish football runs.
And Rangers fans are waking up to this. I had cause recently to challenge another group wishing to harness the power of Rangers supporters – the group campaigning against Scottish independence known as British Unity. On their British Unity Supporters group page on Facebook, the campaign was discussing having links to Unionist-minded websites. When someone asked about loyalist websites, this was immediately gunned down.

You can read about my response to this here.

What I didn’t mention in my other blog was that at least one admin regularly asks for British Unity to be shared on Rangers websites.
So Rangers fans are good enough to be solicited for support but they are NOT to be seen to be Rangers fans. And Rangers Facebook pages are good enough to share links but they are NOT to ask for a share back.
This is the problem in Scottish society. If you are a Rangers supporter or a “Queen & country” loyalist, you are considered toxic by the political parties. Unless, of course, you hide your allegiance. Your votes and cash are very welcome, though.

Just don’t talk about your football allegiance or your working-class Unionism. If you are middle class and university educated, you are accepted as a Unionist. But if you are an Orangeman from Larkhall and want to make a stand for Queen and country, don’t mention it.
After all, we don’t want to give the SNP any ammunition, do we? Now, of course, not every Rangers supporter is in the Orange Order. But a fair few are.

And most Rangers fans would consider themselves to be loyalists – not in the sense that British Unity admins would label them i.e. sectarian – but simply people who wish to maintain the Union and the British Throne. However, British Unity are happy to collectively lump Rangers supporters, members of the Orange Order and loyalists all in the one bucket and smear them with sectarianism. Whatever that is.
I notice no mention was made of Celtic supporters, many of whom qualify as being loyalists in the most basic sense in that they wish to stay in the United Kingdom and are happy to retain the monarchy. But it’s just too easy to distance yourself from those sectarian Rangers/Loyalist/Orange people.

Even though you need their votes to win the Referendum and their “likes” on your Facebook page. It’s no different from the SFA and the SPL – people want to use and harness the power of the massive Rangers support but they want to disassociate from it and treat it like filth.
No more. When you read Rangers forums and blogs you see that Rangers fans are waking up to the fact that they have been taken for a ride for years, their support fleeced by political parties, their economic power extorted by football authorities and their reputation besmirched by a hostile media.

The angry Bear has woken up.

I for one have had enough of people seeking the help of Rangers fans but being too cowardly to acknowledge it. It has taken years of social engineering to get us to the place where being a Rangers fan or a loyalist equals bigot in many peoples’ eyes. And, as we have seen this week, those of a Rangers, Protestant, Loyalist persuasion are labeled as huns in a vile, derogatory fashion. For years, Rangers fans took this stoically but are now realising that if you let people abuse you verbally today, they will be stitching their abuse onto your clothes tomorrow.
We have all seen what happens when a group of people become ostracised, vilified, demonised and criminalised.

Rangers FC and its fans have plenty of persecutors. Sad to say, there are also plenty who will use Rangers fans for their own financial and political ends. As a Unionist myself, I support the aims of British Unity in their attempt to maintain the Union.
However…
As a Rangers supporter, I object to my football allegiance being labelled in a derogatory manner and linked to sectarianism. And as a loyalist, I object to having my Unionism devalued by Morningside Knitting Club Unionists. Or considered inferior to many in the Labour Party and others who claim to be Unionists while having Irish Republican sympathies. The days when people can treat Rangers supporters as a disenfranchised rabble and manipulate them are over.

And the nation will be the better for it.

Rangers will come back stronger than ever and the corruption endemic in Scottish football and society will be removed. The threat of a Scottish republic will be removed and Scotland will take its place in a vibrant Britain as we go forward in the 21st century. And, as the song goes – “When the Rangers win the European Cup, as we’ve done with every one before, we’ll gather round at Ibrox 60,000 strong, and give the boys an Ibrox roar.” You see, believing in a bright future is part of being a Ranger. And that bright future includes no shame being attached to supporting Rangers by the club’s enemies.

Or politically correct cowards.

Rangers then, Rangers now, Rangers forever.

I;m a Rangers supporter, a Unionist, working class and University educated. That makes me the chattering classes worst nightmare.

It also makes me, the Scottish Labour party’s biggest growing dilemma. They are the only party who have a realistic chance of removing the nationalist threat to the union, at the moment.
The tories will never be trusted in Scotland again, but the Labour party in Scotland, is made up of our enemies also. This situation was allowed to develop because of the lack of a Rangers political lobby.
I hate that term, Rangers political lobby, but it has been where we have been outstripped by the other side of the city. Where they sought to engender sympathy in the political arena, we rightly, kept the politicians at arms length.
That shouldn’t mean that rangers supporters don’t fight for their interests, just like the Irish mafia. If we have to threaten to put up our own candidates, in working-class areas, then so be it.
There are plenty of good men and women, in the Rangers support, who would stand up for our interests, while also able to uphold the values of their constituents. This seems like drastic action, but it’s not.
It’s a strategic negotiation with a political world, who refuse to acknowledge the power of the Rangers vote. They want our vote, but they wont treat us as equal citizens, or represent our interests and opinions. If politicians want the blessing of the Rangers family, then they have to show some respect, and stop the demonisaton now.
Any party that refuses to show us respect, will be blacklisted on the Rangers websites, blogs etc.
There, they can join the growing list of bigots who smear our club and supporters, on a daily basis.

The journalists, the presenters, the newspaper editors, the TV and radio stations, will be joined by the hypocrites from Hollyrood, who refuse to show us some respect. If we do this, then life will become very uncomfortable for the fat controller, in Bute house.

The Rangers Party. How many seats do you reckon they'd get in a Scottish Parliament?

Great read again Bill, inspires me daily. I am a loyal Rangers man, who happens to have been born in Scotland, Scotland is part of the Union of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I am proud of my Scottish roots, proud of being British but most of all i am proud of being a loyal Rangers man.
The Nationalist and Republicans cabal of Union and Rangers haters, have had the political power and the Mhedia access to vilify and blacken the Bears name. We Bears have very few political and Media allies to fight back in the propaganda war with them.
But all the haters of the Bears and the Union have done is “to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve” Well this Bear is filled with a great resolve to fight these bigots and haters to my last. Even in the last few days we have seen the bile of the King bigot and the Junior bigot’s, open hatred directed towards our club and players dealt with, in our fight back. Small victories but victories none the less, it’s a good start. We are learning and learning fast, politics is power. That where we need to gather our strength. you all know i like a quote? well here is another one…“ONE FOR ALL AND ALL FOR ONE” Then, now, forever.

John Reid… former alki, verbal and physical bully, warmonger… the man whose custom was to visit republican/ira/mhank pubs and clubs and teach and lead the full repetoire of anti British, murdering, irish rebel songs… the man whom tony ‘turncoat’ bliar made Defence Secretary of the UK governement… the man made a Baron, courtesy of The Queen… you couldn’t make this up. A man with a deep hatred of Rangers… Indeed the enemy, and we watched and let it happen, with hardly a whimper.

About half way down the McMurdo piece I thought he was suggesting a Zombie Party and began thinking of catchy names. I am glad to see Graham Zombie the University educated nightmare picked up on it too.
