I have to say obviously the current rules state would mean Newcastle would feel extremely annoyed at not being awarded that goal but I've generally been one to advocate if you're offside, you're offside. You will always be interfering with play when you are on the pitch, as a defender you will have to be aware of a striker who is offside which might distract from what is going on infront of you and you may have taken up a different position had that player not been in that position, so for me it effects play.
I am biased, but that was a goal. Lino gave it and was in a better position to determine any interference from Gouffran. Ref decided he wanted some MOTD airtime and stuck his big nose in. If Gouffran had turned and looked away, we wouldn't be having this conversation. He ducked a ball that was nowhere near him and influenced the ref's decision.
