Millennium Stadium was so much better than Wembley, wasn't too impressed by Wembley yet Wembley looked great in the champ league final so perhaps you can only judge it when full. The new stadium in Colchester I visited this season was literally in the middle of nowhere, The Weston Homes Community Stadium took us by surprise driving up the motorway and BAM it was there on the right hand side with no parking for miles!
Oh yeah Villa Park was great, very steep compared to St Marys so nice to have the change.....Millwall's Den was steep too but a terrible ground...didn't see much of the surrounding area
If you want to see raw passion, watch what happened to River Plate after their defeat and draw in a relegation play off that saw them fall into the abyss of lower league Argentinian football.
completely agree. their biggest bank of supporters were crowded in the opposite end of the stadium where they sounded like mice, plus its only like 3/4 of a stand. wierd place with tin sheds for loo's. that said though i loved the fact that someone in our end at the far side had a domino's delivered to them! class.
Well I suppose it had to come up sooner or later. Buffoon. As Chocky stated, the Manor Ground took some beating as did Rotherham or Boothferry Park Hull. The Emirates is a super ground, shame about the lack of atmosphere.White Hart Lane is better. Carrow Road is always worth a visit. Bramall Lane is one of my favourites- a proper ground.
Root's Hall, Southend. Is like a very very small version of Goodison park. And it feels like someone has just dug a hole and chucked it in. Well thats how I remember it, Maybe I was just pissed!
Ah yes Rotherham. I got a "VIP" ticket for the cup game in about 2002..... Halftime refreshment was in a portacabin!
VIP treatment at Rotherham eh? You know how to live For Archibald Leach, please read Leitch. I've a feeling the former was Cary Grant in an earlier guise As for Mr Leitch, I think with what he had left after his efforts at FP, he went down the road and cobbled together a 'stand' or two at The Dell.
Fratton Park worst by a coastal mile!! Although not the best ground, and especially the away end, I do like the Valley. Because of the 'tin shed' that is the away end, when it is full, the atmosphere is awesome. I remember going there a few seasons ago (the year Nigel Pearson saved us on the last day) and coming away with a 1-1. The constant chanting of 'yellows' made me hoarse for a week. Brilliant!
oh my god i forgot charlton.... hate hate hate that place for 2 reasons: 1) the smallest leg room ever - the chair in front nearly cuts circulation to your knees off 2) had a hot dog there and was in bed for a week with severe food poisoning...bad times. plus we lost 3-1. so dont like the valley one bit!
Interesting choices from everyone. I remember the matches that I attended as well! In terms of best stadium. wembley is awesome although I missed the JP ( I know I know). In terms of league I would have to say Maine road and roker park tied for old skool atmosphere. I loved going to the stadium of light (perhaps too many corporates tipped the balance!) In terms of poorest and ignoring the obvious down the road I would say Luton, horrible and area as well. would also have to vote for Wycombe.
White Hart Lane was my favourite (though the performance wasn't!) Kenilworth Road was just terrible, walking through someone's garden to get into the away end.
