I have been a moderator on the Bristol City forum for nearly a year now,it has been a pleasure to be here helping our forum grow in terms of membership,depth of discussion and the amount of enjoyment or agony it gives to the people it serves,we have become one of the top 15 forums on the not606 site,not bad considering the ways our fortunes are going with regard to our football team.
I acknowledge with the upmost conviction this is a public forum and not the individual property of any single person or small interested parties but in the interest of the majority I have honestly always tried to maintain balance,decency,the will of the majority and deny any bigotry,discrimination or sick comments about family or a persons faith,that is the serious stuff out of the way.
When a mod is started off we are given certain powers which anybody with sense knows not to abuse but we are able to influence debates,conversations and protect to a certain extent the conduct of all participants,making sure balance and fairness takes place without abuse,foul language or insulting or mindless behavior taking place,to protect minorty points of view but to enable the majority to express itself without cause for concern
Recently and becoming more often we are having good debates and threads ruined by members of other boards and I will name names, certain members of Bristol Rovers board or the General chat forum putting up cross threads causing some problems,some of our members like to join in the banter,including myself but I'm not prepared to have people leaving our board because we are being flooded with mundane comments,provocotive material or constant wums about our club,our education,location or culture,now before anybody says I'm angry,it's getting under my skin,I can't take it or I'm throwing things out of my pram,I'm not,all this type of comment can go on a banter thread,as they do by the way on a lot of the other boards,repartee amongst fans can go on on match threads as we already do,all and sundry are welcome here for general debate and sensible conversation but with mutual respect shown for each other.We,as mods have the ability to close,merge or delete threads even cross board threads,I have never used or abused these priviledges but to protect,develop and enjoy this board I will use them from now on if needs must.
Over the last couple of days I have been involved in retoric and conversations I don't need,as an individual I am not prepared to tolerate the stupidity that is being thrown my way,I am aware that when you put yourself up for this task a certain amount of humour is required but honestly I do this for pleasure and the enjoyment of being involved wiith fans of Bristol City Football Club which does truly mean the world to me.
This might not seem an important point to some but to me this is a Bristol City forum and it should be led by Bristol City people and anybody else is a guest and should respect the values and ethics of our people,if they don't then use a banter thread,their own board or stay away.
You have noticed that I (we) have apponted Angelic to the task,he is most welcome and I will be honest I have tried in earnest to get on board another to work with us and take this board forward,I have been getting frustrated of late with not be able to direct the way some activities have evolved,so it must be pretty obvious to you that this has been a planned maneuver.
I have always believed I had the confidence and respect of the majority of people I serve on this forum but the question of my ability to rise to the task has been raised so I am more than willing to step down and let Angelic ( who doesn't even know I'm putting this to you) carry on and replace me with someone else.
I fully realise this is only a bit of fun on a peoples forum but if I keep your confidence I will apply all the standards required,if I am not wanted,no hard feelings,I will return to being a fully active member.

). i can only guess that as city lost and you seen a wum thread by me and then you see a few rovers fans stick up for ollie on your the ollie twat thread, to me and the rest of us gas, it looked like you were being bitter (thats how it looked, sorry if its not the case but see it from our side) so you tried to get rid of us by getting a vote on banning us. the fact that you are the number 1 wummer against rovers (which we enjoy by the way) doing your banning thread obviously stirred things up with us (considering the way it looked, again sorry if that wasnt the case). since that thread of yours, only 2 other threads have been made which was chris's wum at you about banning city fans which i could see wouldnt go down too well and spunkys wum (shinys best mate) where there were a lot of banter on there. no other threads has been touched in a wum way. so again i think this whole thing has been blown out of proportion. other threads on your board which has comments on from myself have been respectful / constructive. its being made out that we are on every thread wumming ruining it for your board when thats far from the truth.
