Dilligaf, I think common sense wouldn't go amiss on this one. If someone jokingly calls someone a cock, it will be tolerated. If someone is called a cock in order to get a respose, it will be deleted before the entire thread goes off topic.


Norway, please do not stop posting. Can't you see that by doing what we are proposing will save yours, and others threads? If a comment is made that is out of order, or off topic in order to start a fight, it will be deleted. Hopfully, before anyone has a chance to respond, which typically ends in the thread going completely off topic.

Alot of people are sick and tired of the fighting. I'm sick of numerous PM's and sly digs that we delete too much, or let things go by without taking action. I, nor any other moderator cannot win. We will always be the "enemy".

But, I'll be an enemy. I don't are. Something has to be done.

If there are any issues with this, do, let me know and I'll step down.

You surely put the "troll" on ignore.

Its not my business but its so glaringly obvious that if you don't like someones posting style or content then you put them on ignore and you don't have to see them anymore, besides the odd time someone quotes them which isn't that often.

A poster who starts a thread shouldn't have carte blanché over what replies can be read and which ones should be deleted. Thats just controlling the debate into what you want to hear and is the real thing that is curtailing free- speech.

"I don't like this guy or what he says so I'm just going to delete all his points in the debate so he can't have a say or an opinion on things".

Just use the ignore function it is the EXACT reason it was made.

I'm sorry to get involved but I just had to point this out as it seems so obvious and unreasonable that you wouldn't use it but instead want to be able to delete said users content at will.

I have never seen a board like this one for the amount of aggro and **** flinging at each other and pissing contests and to think you ALL (except casual) support the same team too!

From what I've read in this thread this carry on is so out of kilter it is actually driving away the actual good posters who make a board what it is. That should be the biggest and only clue you all need to show something needs to change.

And I thought the LFC board had problems!
 
Fair assesment from the above poster but i Think the point norway Jack was making was not about wanting to control the debate but to be able to weed out trouble when his threads Get de railed.

I imagine its quite frustrating if you try to create debate about specific points and infighting takes over the thread!
Using an ignore button is fine in theory but it is not going to solve any problems, surely the author of his own article has the right to reply and should be allowed to point out that debate is being moved off topic Otherwise

Norway Jack has no problems with any posters(apart from one) and is a valid contributer, if There is a problem with him and said poster then that poster should take steps to avoid norways content not the other way around?

All that i have read from norway Jacks articles has been balanced and respectful, im sure the more regular contributers to our board and our mods see this also.

I beg to differ and can provide proof if there wasn't a risk of this thread exploding (again!). How on earth are homophobic comments 'respectful'? <doh> Is that the kind of forum we want?

As the Liverpool poster has said there is absolutely no reason not to put me on Ignore. None at all. It pissed him off that I had the cheek to post on his thread that I felt we were discussing Liverpool and Rodgers far too much. No abuse from me at all - no nastiness. From there, I had digs about supporting another club and comments about my sexuality. Respectful my ass.

Look, guys I don't like him or Dragon (who's favourite word is 'menstruating' at the moment when referring to me) and they feel the same. That's life. But at least I've put them on Ignore and will make further efforts to do just that from now on. Yet they have both refused to reciprocate despite being asked by me and the mods and the abuse directed towards me has continued despite this. These aren't my assertions they are facts.

Judging by the responses it looks as if he won't post again. I seriously doubt if that comes to pass as I don't think it's in his character, but it would be disingenuous for me to say I'd be sad. I'd be absolutely delighted. I say again, if it's a choice between quitting and putting me on Ignore then the latter is surely the answer?

But that said, NJ does post a lot, usually about another club and another manager or sometimes about Cardiff. But the fact remains he does provide content for those that want to talk about such things and for that reason he should think again. Having a problem with one poster shouldn't be reason to quit.
 
My gut feeling is that Norway uses a variety of usernames on here so if he abandons one the rest can carry on. Apologies if I'm completely wrong.

You're both Jacks and I get on with both of you, I hope you can resolve your differences.

Perhaps we should all, myself included , take a look at ourselves and read through Toe's post a few times. It's an unbiased view from a neutral fan and I can't really argue with it. I do think it's funny that he thinks Casual is a bandit too but that's another story.

Also, let's all make life a bit easier for Ash and Mabs now that Scott has left . We're down to just 2 mods and we need to help these pair of cocks out by not being rude and offensive to each other. These two fcukwits need all the help they can get !!
