"Huw doesn't appear to like spending huge amounts",actually neither do I,so he's in very good company. "The players Laudrup likes seem to cost at least a million more when he comes along". How exactly would you know that? Are you a clandestine member of The Swansea City future signings committee? How much is "a ....load of money" ? So now you are in a "David and Goliath scenario". Only recently you lot were anticipating "top four". Something must have happened that I missed. "We have different scenarios". ,Well you got that right. Swansea City are a well run, profitable Club who, should they be so moved, can afford to spend £12,000,000.00 on a player. Cardiff,on the other hand, have "a ....load" of debt, which is increasing by the day. They also have an owner who blackmails the Club and it's loyal fan base, threatening to pull out if you all refuse to pull your pants down for him. We have different scenarios for sure, and I know which scenario has most appeal.
"Do you really think it will be that long before they reach that milestone" I was being nice,Valley, giving them some kind of hope, something to cling on to. The season hasn't begun yet and I'm already bored ....less by them. They seem to think they are fully in control of affairs at their Club, when the only thing they have control over is their bladders. Well,I assume they still have that, but it may well be the case that Tan even tells them when to pyss. I never bought into the "won't it be great to have two Welsh teams in The P.L." scenario. Some wanted it,but not me. I think they will be bad for The P.L., and the image of Welsh football may well suffer when their fans' start rampaging through towns and cities. Being the Capital City Club, they have an air of entitlement about them that I find distasteful.
Never really understood the "you'll never be a big club as we're the capital city, you're the second city". That doesn't appear to have held Man United back in England.
That's been their clarion call ever since I started posting back in 2007,nifta. When all else fails, they play the "Capital City/Second City" card.
Agree Vetch, they need all the hope they can get. Just hope their fans don't destroy the image of Welsh ffotball that we have built the past few years on a GLOBAL scale. The quicker they are relegated the better
"The quicker they are relegated the better". Now I'll drink to that Valley,,even though I am tee-total.
I've said all along that if Laudrup was to leave us it would be for a club of the size of Utd, Real and Barca. SSN are reporting that Barca manager Tito is resigning due to ill health. Thank fcuk the problems at the club have been sorted
we are in a very good position now and it doesn't really matter if laudrup stays or goes after this season, we are in such a position that managers from all over the world will look at us as a good team to manage, we are debt free, we are definitely at least a mid table premiership side and we are getting better....the only manager we would employ are the ones who like to play the way we do and would carry on the same way, so i'm not worried one bit whether laudrup decides that this is his last season...
Agree Dai, I think he will leave on next season if the RIGHT club comes calling. However, he will be leaving us in one hell of a strong position should he leave us in terms of the quality of our whole squad
