We've also come through a list of difficult fixtures including Palace, M'brough, Milwall, Leicester and yourselves all of which we won. You need to concentrate on your own team getting you promoted rather than rely on us messing up. The other thing is we've already ridden out a spate of injuries including Bellamy, Noone, Smith and Mutch all out at the same time. We even won without Whitts today. I'd rather sit here believing my team is going to get us promoted rather than than sit there believing (?) another team will lose it. Keep believing that if you want. As for transfers, it's more likely we'll sign a key player than lose one. Happy days.
No **** Taff. The league table does not lie, nor will it lie at the end of the season. It remains to be seen whether our current form continues- some on here seem to think it's in the bag just because it's eight undefeated. There's almost half a season left and form/luck changes regularly, however tempting it is to believe your own team is 'the best' full stop. I bear no ill will towards the Red Birds- but I would have thought that the experiences of previous seasons would have taught them to hold their tongues until late Spring.
from what I've read on this thread , NO Cardiff fan has been shooting off at the lip or giving it large - as I see it we are only replying to questions put by Hull supporters about our strengths and weaknesses, and as for other reasons for being on your page , you are our main title rivals at the moment so we want to know your thoughts on the race for the title and as has been mentioned on many threads there are many twists and turns ahead
A point at blackpool is a very good point... something else to be positive about is Blackpool had scored in every one of their last 14 games prior to ours. and also only 4 times in 25 games games ... Definitely need a bit more oomph up front but our defence is as good as it gets
You didn't play us in the last month. We are focusing on our own team, two go up automatically, as long as we take one, we don't need you to mess up. Same with us for riding out the injuries bit to get key players back. Nobody has said they believe you will lose it, there was merely a few jibes for history's sake that sometimes it hasn't gone perfectly in the past for yourselves. Lighten up. Likewise we will probably gain one than lose one. For what it's worth, I think the current two will be the top two at the end of the season.
I think the question was more of surprise than anything else. Still quite early in the season to be looking at things like that, and with us not playing you just yet it seemed odd that you'd suddenly come along like buses, it usually only happens when the team's name is in the thread and someone spots it on the forums list.
I agree our name isn't in the thread! But I like to look at threads as I like to read! And there's not many active teams in this forum I posted on the Cardiff forum about teams thinking we will bottle it and low and be hold a few of your posters mentioned this so it became a cross thread ! Your right we have thrown up good opportunities but in the years your talking about we have over achieved in the last 5 years we've been in an FA cup final a carling cup final and a play off final with transfer embargoes and no money to recruit tbh we've over achieved sadly ppl on here are blinded by the obvious facts!!! I'm so proud of what we've achieved in Last 5 years my grandad who supported them for 60yrs hasn't seen what I have in the last 5 years I'm blessed! You seen your club in a FA cup final a carling cup go al in recent time?! No.... Good luck I hope to see you in the Prem with us!!!
Like I say, I think the question was just a surprise a few coming over at once when we've not had any since around the time we played you. There didn't appear to be any particular reason it would be now and not last week or next week, but there must have been a reason for it to be a few at once. With you using exclamation marks in place of every kind of punctuation I can't work out if you're narked about it being asked or not. I had a similar problem with my younger cousin who's your age a few weeks ago. She decided to post on my 13 year old cousin's (her sister) facebook page something like "Does anybody know where {insert name of youngest cousin} is!!!", and then couldn't understand why I got the impression that she was missing.
Haha called too much to drink and cba looking for full stops and commas on my phone like I said good luck for rest of season it going to be a cracking one. We will be there or there abouts at the end of the season and I hope our last game of the season doesn't have have too much of a baring on the out come of the league Btw your up late! Watch the darts like me?
Listen guys - I often look at your Hull forum because of my past work history up there that I've mentioned before on here. I have no malice whatsoever toward the Tigers, in fact, completely the opposite. I would like to see you out of all the other Championship teams be promoted - as long as we go up as well. The reason I and some of my fellow posters have commented on this thread is simply that we are totally pissed off with the references on other forums about our recent "bottling" history. The fact that we have failed to get out of this division this past 5 years after seemingly being primed to do so cannot be denied, but the reasons are far from the bottling jibe. They are many and varied but wont go into them now. Relying on history to form a current opinion indicates a lack of a grasp of the present. This particular thread title mentioned "Optimism and Positivity" about your club, but what did I see when I started to read it. Out of the first 10 posts on it, half of them brought up my club Cardiff bottling it or blowing up. You got answered accordingly by me, and others followed. Discuss us by all means, in fact we're somewhat flattered by your interest, but don't be surprised when you get a response. Sincerely the best of luck in your promotion quest.
Sorry, didn't realise I was limited to a month when commenting on the list of fixtures we'd experienced, mainly against top 8 opposition. Hey ho. It's good that you have also ridden out a patch of injuries. Those below us will experience similar in the next 4-5 months and may not fare as well which will help us both. As for lightening up, I'm pretty chilled actually. Things are good. The one's who aren't chilled are those that repeatedly reference our failure to get promoted. A lot of clubs would love to be fighting at the top end repeatedly rather than face the threats at the other end. No, we haven't been promoted, but we've had a hell of a ride for the last few years. As to the top 2 at the end of the season, I'd like to think that the top 2 now will go up, but there are still 4-5 in the hunt and don't rule out a late charge from mid table. Palace and Leicester can't be discounted. I'm starting to take my eye off the points the team in 7th place have, but 3rd, 4th and 5th are still watched with caution.
Ok, I know when I'm not wanted so I'll quietly slope off back to my own green green forum Good luck for the rest of the season (with injuries and ummm .....Luck) and we shall see you back here Saturday 4th May for what could possibly be both our final championship game for some time ,hope we don't meet 2 weeks later than that tho KTF
Bleedin' hell the Cardiff fans have been complimentary towards us and we, in turn, give them some stick. I won't say Cardiff are out of sight yet, but there's a lot of ground to make up. The last game of the season looks very interesting at this point. I'm happy the way things are going- we playing well and crucially not losing. We've had injuries that haven't effected us yet. Aluko was out for most of our decent form in December. Good luck Cardiff and all.
Agreed - as far as I'm concerned, this is a multi club forum and they are welcome to post (especially as it's complimentary ). Personally I would be astonished if Cardiff didn't take one of the automatic spots this season. I just hope we get the other
There will be a lot of twist and turns before the season is finished, I think we are well placed as anyone to get automatic promotion spot. January window will be important, and those that can strengthen will likely be the ones pushing. I think Cardiff will get one of the places, so lets hope we get the other. Frankly I think Cardiff do deserve to get up this year, after their near misses previously, and they are already in a good position to achieve this.
Thanks for the compliment John. Promotion for good attendence at the playoffs isn't in the rules unfortunately, but we've been knocking on the door for a good few seasons. Hopefully the door will be opened wide this year and we can walk straight through. As you say, lots of twists and turns to come. This is the championship after all.
Aye - it aint over by a very long chalk guys. Any team in the top 8 or so putting a decent run of half a dozen wins together can quite easily spoil the Taff/Humberside party. Just keep our heads down and keep going one game at a time - let them wory about us.
