Cards on the table; I am a supporter of the Scottish National Party with socialist views pretty close to Corbyn's Labour party.

My judgement is that Labour achieved as much as could be expected yesterday. Please bear in mind that the Conservative and Unionist Party of Great Britain and Northern Ireland have adorned themselves with the racist views of the United Kingdom Independence Party. It can therefore be assumed that the collapse in the UKIP vote greatly benefited the Tories in seats/councils which most of the media suggested were at Labour's mercy.

Pretty glad that Labour did as well as I expected but not too well as to give succour to their lemmings north of the border!

If there was an election tomorrow we'd be as we were last year: a hung parliament with the Tories as largest overall party but having to form a coalition to stay in power. Lib Dems would increase their number of MPs slightly. Of course, that doesn't take into account changes in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland*

Basically, the Tories are in power by dint of David Cameron winning in 2011 and being in place at the start of an election.

I admire your optimism Mindy but Labour should be trouncing this lot. Theresa May is probably the worst Prime Minster the country's had since Victoria was on the throne and the party is embroiled in scandal after scandal. On top of that the Home Secretary was forced to resign earlier this week and May has all the personality of a turd in a tutu.

And, yet, all the opinion polls have the Tories slightly in the lead and last night showed that their share of the vote hardly changed.

Labour could put you in charge and you'd do a better job than Jeremy Corbyn.

You really are a dullard, Kenneth.

The problem with the Brexit vote was that it was ACTUALLY traditional Labour areas that voted overwhelmingly for Brexit.

Socialists/Labour want government to make every decision on their behalf, to control everything, to be involved. I'm a Liberal at heart and I fkin despise government and see it as a massive waste of money.

The tories may well be terrible but they are also the bastard child of New Labour.

Labour is not going back to New Labour.

Brexit is a reality and all the whiney ****s need to realise its a painful Labour one or a murderous Tory one. Nobody else counts.

Racists and Privateers have gone tory

Everyone else needs to stop splitting hairs.

Do not underestimate the greed of large portions of the British electorate. I even heard a guy on LBC (James O'Brien show) this morning stating although he was a typical aspirant and striving 'Tory' supporter he did not vote yesterday as the Conservative and Unionist Party of Great Britain and Northern Ireland had amended the Income Tax (IT) Acts to stop directors of limited companies shafting the public purse by substantially reducing the amount of 'money' they could 'reward' themselves by paying dividends free of Income Tax and National Insurance Contributions. Shooorlie the ultimatte greedy c**t who does not give a f**k about the rest of society as long as he is screwing the Exchequer.

The thing is that no **** is buying the race/tranny/**** card that Labour are selling.

The biggest race baiters are now overwhelmingly on the left.

As Morgan Freeman said, if everyone stopped talking about race there wouldnt be a race issue.

Corbyn will have to stand up and explain how sincere he actually is about dealing with the rife anti-Semitism in the Labour Party. He's been a long term supporter of the rights of Palestinians to take back their land and has called Israel an apartheid regime. Coming from him comments about how Jew-friendly Labour is seem at odds with his past.

Sadly Corbyn is being hounded by the Jews who on the whole are not Labour material but their influence in wider politics and the media can't be underestimated. Look how much grief Ken Livingstone got from the Evening Standard for refusing to apologise for his comments. My opinion only but I think the more central/right parts within Labour are where the majority of their Jewish membership lies and it is also where Corbyn has least support within the membership. This is internal mud slinging is being deliberately dragged out onto the front pages instead of focusing on the other issues of the day such as Brexit/Syria/Windrush etc.

You basic lack of knowledge is frightening considering you're a site elder.

Directors used to be able to pay themselves up £40k in 'tax free' dividends providing their firm had made a profit (and as such would be paying corporation tax at 20%) therefore not really tax free.

Now they pay 7% tax and CT has been reduced to 17% so you now are about 3% better off paying Dividends and not going through the employee route.

It should also be noted that the greedy bastard tories have taken millions of people out of taxation altogether by increasing the taxable earnings to £11k or thereabouts.

Socialists want to punish people of thrift by taxing them because they lack their own drive to succeed.

    They are SCUM

"Dullard" indeed; I shall wear this title with pride.

I am aware that there was a substantial vote in favour of Brexit in many northern towns like Grimsby and Sunderland both of which have benefited greatly from funds and grants from the European Union. I would bet that Tory Central Office have no plans to replace such funds from the UK Exchequer after March 2019 or October 2020.

    I think you mean 'Libertarian'.

Barrie will be moving to England soon to take advantage of the £9,000 university fees for his kids, £10 NHS prescriptions, the highest council tax and water bills in the country and the continued privatisation of the NHS.

The Tories? Great bunch of lads (especially when it comes to robbing your ass while giving the impression that they're helping you by saving a few pence on income tax).

University fees are paid back at a pittance.
£10 is fair value for prescriptions.
NHS is fked and needs to be broken up. We are living longer and it's no longer fit for purpose. There is no amount of money you could pour into it and it still wouldn't be enough.

People have been saying that about the NHS since ER last got his hole (early 1970s).

I've seen what privatised health service is like. They convince you that you should go to hospital even when you have the sniffles. It's all I can do to stop the wife making a doctor's appointment when she has a paper cut.

"But we're told to go to hospital in Japan even for a cold"

"Aye, that's because they charge you money ya daft bint"

There is truth in it though. My maw is a care worker going round houses and what not and it's simply unsustainable to give that type of care on the NHS going forward.

There are people younger than her she visits ffs.
