They're being asked to fight for the country when they sign up. It doesn't matter whether people agree with the conflicts they go to or not - once they're in they can't really say no. When they get back the country that they founght for should be providing help for them in the event that they need it. Simple as.
Hmmmmm - I do get what you mean. However, they spend our money to send them there in the first place. If they were fighting a war which was unquestionably in all of our interests (and yeah I know that ain't about to happen any time soon) we'd probably all agree they should have access to care when they return.

I'd rather my money went to someone bumping the dole for a few quid than sending armed men and women to foreign countries to murder the natives and steal their resources. Maybe that's just me though.
