I'm a yank, and an excitable one at that. This place has taught me tolerance. The attitude towards my country and its people on this forum can, at times, be extremely harsh. It's difficult to read and not respond. So much so, I've told myself I'd never be back on many occasions. But, I stopped taking it personally. Then, it became amusing in a way. In a head scratching sort of way. I'm often times baffled at some of the perceptions and opinions about my lot on here. I've been 30 years in the San Francisco area, and this is where I belong. Not altogether representative of the rest of the country, for sure. Human nature insists on some pride about your "home", and I certainly have some. Despite the damaged pride at times, I keep coming back, probably to the dismay of many. Comm, if you and I went out for drinks, I'd spend every last penny and probably wake up in a dirty rotten jail cell wondering what the hell happened. Think Paul McGrath in Israel. Gil and Disco are two others I'd truly enjoy meeting. Tel and Joe, Nordic and Roger, top lads. Lots of good folks here. Missing many. But, I really really love footy. I mean it. I watch so much it's crazy. So, I learn a lot here. I never played, so I try and participate in the threads while staying respectful due to my lack of experience/knowledge. It can be a fine line. I've fallen in love with the club, so I can't help participating.

First and foremost I come on to talk about football. It's my passion, I could sit and discuss players and tactics, all day. I know that's not for everybody, but it's what I get the most enjoyment out of. I used to comment on everything, but now, I keep my posts on off-topic threads, to a bare minimum. The only reason for that is I find they are the threads that get me into trouble. I've had two site bans and been banned from 5 different teams boards, and it lowers the experience on here. I'm now only banned from two boards, so like in life, I do generally learn from my mistakes. The only problem is, a new mistake generally follows shortly after I've met quite a few posters from this site and I can honestly say, I like every one of them. I'm hoping to meet up with Pops again during the pre-season and I'll definitely be meeting Funky, soon enough. I see Gordon every week to play football with and that is through this forum. Overall I'm glad I found this site, there's some cracking lads and lasses on here
