I've always thought Beckham was a bit like a kicker in American Football. Gets called on about 4 times in 90 minutes to take a free kick and doesn't have to do much else of any note, except take the plaudits for when one of the kicks is successful. Doesn't have to ruffle his hair too much and still gets to walk off with his shirt draped over his shoulder to please the women! Tosser
I've only ever watched some American football on the TV once. I say some because I switched it off after about 30 minutes and have never felt the need to watch it again. Not my game I'm afraid. If I watch sport I want to be entertained by the sport itself and not dancing girls and bands. If I wanted that I'd go see a musical. Never thought rounders was much of a sport either or Baseball as they like to call it. How you can have a world championship with only one nation taking part is beyond me. About the only national game of theirs I like is basketball which at least is fast a furious. I played that myself in my younger days so I guess I'm a little biased there. They do seem to take an idea from a proper sport and turn it into a poor man's alternative for some reason.
They even spoilt a nice cup of tea (years ago) by throwing it overboard.......and calling it a tea party.
