Imagine the uproar if there was quite a heavy Muslim influence in Westminster and they did the same sort of thing ie remove the UJ from Parliament? <beel>
If we are getting into silly analogies - imagine the uproar if a heavy Muslim immigrant majority voted to split London from the rest of the UK, to call itself 'Southern England', 'a Muslim state for a Muslim people' - would a native English person within this new state be wrong to not accept the new Muslim flag as his own?
It's a bloody flag. Get over it. If the Devolved administration wanted to get rid of the UJ and replace it with a tricolor or a papal flag then fair dos but that's not what's happening. More to the point does anyone want to tell me a Government building in London (you know - that little town which happens to be the capital city of the United Kingdom) that flies the flag 365 days a year?
The funny thing is that it wasn't some sort of ambush snatch and grab on the flag. There were two widely publicised public consultations on the issue last year in the Ulster Hall. 3 people turned up. they had their chance to object then and they blew it, especially the political parties who certainly knew about it and could have rallied the "troops" then.
I was doing so well at keeping my head out of this ****e too then the ****ers sucked me back in by burning busses at the bottom of my street. They burned busses at the bottom of my street because Sinn Fein accepted the Crown's advise to fly the Union Jack during such exalted days as Princess Kates Brithday... the Shinners voted in acceptance of the Union Jack flying and now people who are too stupid to notice the air of compromise are wrecking the place. Imagine the mess when (as is not a huge price) Martin McGuinness becomes First Minister at the next election - they'll be rioting while calling for a reversal of the vote.
A little update for you all. On Saturday when Unionists were walking past the nationalist Short Strand area they were attacked by people throwing bricks and bottles. This silly lad was caught on camera wearing his work fleece from Translink (who run the countries buses & trains) and lobbing a brick at the peaceful protestors. please log in to view this image He'll be having an interesting day in work today
Gerry was up yesterday Medro and today the Chief Constable apologised to the people of the Short Strand. As well he should or he would have went the same way as the last Ombusman who defied the beard. That chap was defending his home. http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-21012517 Chief Constable Baggot knows what side his bread is buttered
I saw that Ciaran. Wee Niall took him round after delivering an ass whuppin to Sammy Wilson on the news.
Yeah but you're all Irish at the end of the day. Britain's responsibility but the fault of the Irish.
Incorrect. They are British. It is Britains flag. They are Britains creation therefore Britains fault and responsibility. Tell Lizzie to have a word
