I enjoyed this one - frankly the doom and gloom merchants set themselves up by not reading through Ranieri's CV - he has overseen similar positive transformations to the one that we are now experiencing - although it might be argued that this is his most of impressive of all in terms of where we are currently proudly sitting ..

Worst of the lot were the numpties who contested that his likely prospects with us could somehow be predicted from his limited tenure as the Greek international coach ... a closed pool of players and a country whose 'golden generation' peaked and faded with and after that Euro win ... no manager in the world could have transformed the bunch he had there into an international tour de force, because the talent pool just wasn't there to pick from ...

"Unless their Thai owners are bold enough to spend a few million on selling a Champions League dream to three or four key players – knowing their recruitment chief Steve Walsh has a damned fine record of nailing the right men for decent prices.

It would be an audacious strategy of anti-Daniel Levy economics – but they’d be doing English football an immense service by daring to dream."
Woah woah woah! no need to get so personal! <laugh>

the author obviously isn't aware of owners ambitions and their willingness to fund success. Is the a Fox fan than doesn't pinch themselves at 1 our current position or to what extent that CR will be funded to make the leap to the next level of English football we could leapfrog many of the perennial Europa league hopefuls with careful man management and a double edged buying policy of one for now and one for the future. Our owners have built up the facilities not to the standards of an also ran but to compete with the best. I believe they will attempt to grasp the momentum and build what they have promised us they would deliver ahead of schedule if the Football management team say it is possible.
