Harsh to call Doble woeful - he was an isolated forward who got little support from the midfield. You can't expect him to play well when he aint getting the service. If lambert never got the service, he would look poor as well
actually, if Lambert wasn't getting the service, he's still be winning balls in the air from clearances and certainly wouldn't get knocked off the ball easily. If Doble was 17 or 18, I would say he has a chance, but he's almost 21 and physical development will be limited now.
he looked comfortable on the ball when he had time. With more game time, he'll quicken his decision making and hopefully he'll strengthen up as he is only 17. Certainly one for the future (short term future). Reeves really looked like he is a mini Lallana in the making. Same turns and tricks - looked very promising. Hoskins had only half an hour and as with Doble didn't get a lot of quality service, but in that short term he did show for the midfield a little better than Doble and seemed stronger. With more time and development he could make it, but I'm unsure at the moment.
I reckon the work experience boy at the Mirror is writing an article linking JWP to Arsenal as we speak.
