Paul Clement quoting Darth Vader in his initial meeting with Huw "You may dispense with the pleasantries, Commander. I am here to put you back on schedule."
Some suppositions there, Roof. Was it Clement's act to 'dislodge' Curtis? We don't know do we? It may have been his insistence, it may have come from above and had nothing to do with him at all. Whatever the case he's also made it clear during the press conference that Curtis isn't being 'cut loose' and will be relied upon for his input. It is what it is, we are where we are. Let's see how this pans out and hopefuly the new man will get us over the line.
Clement could have said " Hold it now Huw , maybe I want to keep Curtis by my side " not liking being told he couldn't have him . Although , to give credit where credit is due , Clement probably didn't know Jenkins already text Curtis with the news that he wouldn't be joining Clement and did a nice cover for Huw having to be the one day old manager who showed a bit of class picking up the ball on coming to Curtis's defence saying the great things about him as Huw was muffled in a room for a bit somewhere
If it's true Taff, which looks to be the case, it's an awful way to behave. Firstly why the need to communicate anything the night of the Palace game and secondly of course you talk to each other face to face. Then it's managed properly both in terms of Alan himself and the press.
I don;t think so, I think you need one player who can marshall the players you already have. I'd hate to lose him, he does make the odd costly mistake, and he's ex-Cardiff, but James Collins would improve your defence immeasurably. Personally I wish Bilic would put him in the team ahead of Ogbonna
