That's mainly why I want Bruce to go this summer. That and, as Sunderpitt says, many of the players he's brought in haven't been up to it. Not that I agree with Sunderpitt - we've got players supposedly not up to it who've never even been given a chance. Earlier in the season, I was writing here that Sunderland couldn't be in better hands. But now I realize that, once we hit a problem, Bruce can't solve it. He doesn't consider all the options, or, if he does, he doesn't consider them well enough. Twice in two seasons, we've hit problems and, both times, they've festered into long problems. Now, i feel Bruce lacks the imagination to come up with answers.

He's been very unlucky - Bramble and Turner lost to long-term injury within a couple of games of each other, Bent going, etc. And I think overall he's bought well. I'm quite prepared to say all of that for him. But every club will hit problems in the space of nine months, and I'm very unhappy with the way Bruce handles them. Frankly, I don't think he's good enough for where we want to go. You hit on my thinking perfectly, Myrtle.
