I often look back to the days when we had Steve Bruce and Tony Cascarino, it baffles me under the management of Keith Peacock, how the hell we never won anything.
I can never remember complaining about the players in Keith Peacock's team. They were organised, they all knew what their position and the expectation of them, and if they didn't at the back, then Steve Bruce would slap them into place, poor Mel Sage copped it more often than not. We had Cas who came in and replaced Richardson I think, both Republic of Ireland international players. Bruce would have played with them both. Alongside Bruce and Cascarino you had another International player (NI) Terry Cochrane. John Leslie, who came from The REAL Dons, and played for them in their first ever season in the football league before coming to us. Let's not forget also, they all helped Howard Kendall save his job at Everton. They certainly were magic.
