Saw Mitrovic the other night. He was what he is - nothing special. If Ashley had have signed off funds to bring in a striker of the class of Ferdinand, Cole, or any of the guys that we used to regularly sign, then this argument about losing an average bloke like Mitrovic wouldn't be spouted about at all. Instead, we signed House of Fraser with our income.
Nitro couldn't play to Benitez's system. Something he himself admitted with no animosity or sarcasm noted. He couldn't get back and defend, as both he and Benitez have noted. He went to a Fulham team that spent the entire annual budget of a small nation in one window and bought a team to play around him. That Fulham team is now shipping goals for fun, regardless of how many they've scored, and should really have focused on their defence more. Nitro is suddenly looking about as average as he really is, despite being gifted chance after chance and playing around Sessegnon, Schurrle, Vietto, Seri, even Cairney. Nitro has now scored 1 in his last 7 and the fact his record is even having to be argued against Joselu's must really hurt. So my question is this, do those with a predilection for average, angry and weighty Serbian CF's, who admit they're glad to have moved away from the toon, still think we should have changed our system to suit him?
Aye true, though that applies to this whole thread. I'm quietly confident we'll survive and, to be fair, think Fulham will too. They'll have a new manager by then mind.
