It looks like this line, with its horse hair and silk thread theme are going down the make do and mend road, ok, but in the Jan window lets get in some quality. The full booted and suited, that just needs a little smoothing here and there.
Thee's a thread on the Southampton board some of you may be interested to have a gander at. It's basically insulting our fans because we left their away end spotless, no litter, no seats removed, nothing. Obviously they are missing the days of being in the Championship with Millwall and Leeds. As a lot of you know, I have a soft spot for Southampton, so can honestly say that their moronic fans on 606 do not reflect the majority, but they could take a lesson from QPR in learning to walk before they can run. Half of their fans seem to have expected mid table finishes this season! Why do fans always see the need to bring attendances into an argument? We took 2500 up there yesterday and apparently were still 'pretty poor'. I'm not sure even Portsmouth fans took that many to St Mary's last season!
I just had a look, dear me there is nonsense on there. Seems we got a couple of good lads post on here, and the rest are morons. I wish supporters whose teams who do well in the Championship would learn that they're not big boys in the PL. All they've done is beaten Villa!
Hi Bandit, I'd take some of those comments with a pinch of salt. We have a very busy forum and with more members come more morons as with any set of fans. The more moronic fans among us tend to be more vocal, particularly when things aren't going so well on the pitch, and their views stand out among the more level headed members of which I assure you the majority on the Saints forum are. We have high expectations because we have an ambitious chairman which has been backed up by some ambitious purchases in the summer however nothing happens overnight and we are light in reserve. I can see the bottom half of the table being fairly tight this season and as such most predictions range from 17th to 12th (Nobody wants to predict your own team as relegation candidates) although many realise that we are in for a tough season. Look forward to the game at Craven Cottage. Have a good one!
Cheers RSSupertramp. Sensible words. Your board was not that bad. We are fairly lucky on here. Anyhow, enjoy the return visit to our place. PS.Tarquin, our groundsman's assistant, did not seem worried about dirty seats, but would like them left in situ.
Here is the OPTA evaluation provided by the Club - http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2012/october/09/opta-evaluation As usual with stats, they can be manipulated to tell the story you want and I think the most revealing bit of massage in this lot come in the penultimate paragraph - "..overall passing statistics, attempting to find a teammate ...
A good response. I also expected a good season from Southampton, think I tipped them to finish 12th in my PL table prediction, but just because it is not exactly going to plan, doesn't mean the season has been a disaster. I have to ask, why the hell didn't Adkins reinforce his defence in the summer? Hooiveld was good in the Championship, but for PL level you need something more. As I mentioned on the thread on your board, I know the small collection of Saints fans on 606 doesn't represent the majority.
Just thought I visit to get Fulham fans perspective on the game - if you read my comment on the post about your fans you; will see that I have a soft spot for Fulham and apologise for some of the morons who seem to have jumped on the band wagon as we have moved up through the leagues... As for the summer signings - we are at a loss to understand the transfer stratgey ourselves! The whole back-four was questionable - yet we bought Clyne (RB) on the cheap as he was out of contract from Palace and brought Yoshida (CB) from a mid-table Dutch side. Alot of us thought we needed two CB's as neither starters Fonte/Hooiveld seem more than 'adequate' - so we are frustrated and bemused, but not surprised we have conceded so many goals and lost so many leads in games.. going to be a hard season...
