God, it must be hell being you when things are going well for the lads.

You confidently predicted we'd go out against Metalist and then did the same against Anzhi, both on the basis that we'd been getting by against poor sides but had finally come up against a good side. We turn them over, and they're suddenly not all that.

Now we have Benfica, probably the best team in the competition. If we lose to them (I know you'll have your fingers crossed) it will be proof that we're ****e, and that it's all Pardew's fault.

As with the supporter of any club outside the top few, you can always predict that we're going to lose the next match and have a decent chance of being able to come back on the board and crow about how you were right. It doesn't take brains, or independent thinking, or anything except an intense enjoyment of misery.

Bookmark this for the end of the season. If we are anywhere in the relegation mix, I will eat humble pie. If we are actually relegated, you will no doubt be opening the champagne.

Thats all well and good, we do have a great starting 11 and a few decent fringe players but if the manager cannot find a system to get the best out of these players than we are always going to struggle to live up to our obvious potential. This was more or less the original point.

I think he has found a system for us. We've been playing pretty well of late. A couple more options here and there and we're all set.
