I love the idea of 'the silent majority' as if anybody really has any difficulty making their opinion known here or anywhere else

The majority of board users don't post. The majority at City don't sing.

Leaving aside the fact that he's nowhere near Hull's richest man, why on earth do so many people equate extreme wealth with sound decision-making qualities? Surely we've had more than enough experience of entrepreneurs in the modern world not to make that assumption, and to understand why we shouldn't?

Excuse me, Manchester City have no assets. THEY DO NOT OWN THEIR STADIUM.

My feeling is if you can't be bothered to make it known then your opinion isn't very strong either way

Happy Tiger you always make your opinion known as well as a few others who agree with Allam on this , you are definitely a minority though so on what grounds does anybody claim a 'majority' ?

It's truly amazing (and kinda sad) how many people become Yes Men when money is involved.

I know people may be willing to sit back and let this name change happen but cannot believe there are people who are actually pro name change

What happened I think was that he was attracted to football by the higher profile. But then he found out that this also meant greater scrutiny and less control than he was used to, he couldn't bullshit and have his way so easy in such a public role. So he's jumping ship with the name change being a way out.

No name change does not mean no success. Name change does not mean success.

You'll may find quite a few people answering likewise when asking such a hypothetical question. Name change does not guarantee us riches (still waiting on proof that it would). Name change does not guarantee us success. We are just as likely to be relegated as Hull City AFC as we are Hull Tigers, how people can argue otherwise is beyond me.

"Would you let me punch you in the face for a good 5 minutes if it meant the girl of your dreams was to walk through that door and have night upon night of passion with you?"

Personally if MR Allam stays i think we have a better chance for our success to continue based on his past record how ever its just my view i know many will say how do you know it would depend on who takes over but at the moment there are plenty of clubs up for sale including Everton and villa yet not to many interested parties i just wish we never had all this distraction

    Ok Happy here goes.

You say Assem Allam can call the club anything he wants because he saved us, but then you say he can't. He can't change the word Hull. See, you're just like me, although we draw our lines in different places.

He says that the lack of development around the ground is holding City back and yet acknowledges the City Council have made a number of approaches to renegotiate. Each one he has rebuffed. The argument was all about Geraghty being rude to him, he didn't say please or thank you. He continues to confuse Hull City and Hull City Council. I don't think many other people do.

He has said, continuously, that he has run out of money but has broken the club's transfer record each window. He is right in a way, he cannot afford to convert his loans into shares which would allow him to put in more money under the FFP rules. He also hasn't got the millions necessary to keep the KC up to the required standard for the remainder of the lease for Hull FC and to build a new ground at Melton. He could ask the Council to accept the lease back but they could refuse. He'd also have to pay the business rates on the KC.

The name change will not bring us global recognition. Do you really believe Hull Tigers would have got us more coverage then playing Arsenal at Wembley?

The only way we will survive in the premier league and develop is with money. That will not come from Assem Allam or a name change. He says he lost £1 million from a shirt sponsor, well he made that up with the season ticket price rises.

Do you really think that Manchester United's global recognition has anything to do with its name? Marketing the Tigers in the world market is solely dependant on the success of the team and what type of football we play.

If Assem Allam cannot afford to take us to the next level he's right to try and find an owner that can. If he conducts that search with the same rigor he has to setting our finances right he'll find a very wealthy person with deep pockets.

He's said he will sell. On Look North he laughed when Peter Levy asked if he'd sell for £120 million. He then hesitated and thought about his answer before saying yes. Do you think he's going to sell? I don't, not unless he gets all his money back and then some. Same applies if he tries to give City away including Allamhouse's debt, there will be no takers.

Aston Villa is up for sale for £200 million which includes the ground. He's had no interest from buyers. Doesn't bode well for the sale of Hull City, unless he doesn't really intend to give up ownership.

Smoke and mirrors, smoke and mirrors.

Today he said Ehab will be Chief Executive and there will be no further applications to the FA for a name change amongst all the rest.

Time will tell what happens to the appeal and to his ownership. I expect him to be here next season.
