Now I think about it, no offence but this thread is daft as hell

You're basically worried because a player is scoring TOO MANY goals in a poor side. If Freiburg are struggling, then perhaps, just perhaps, the other 10 players in the side are ****e?

You really can spin anything if you try hard enough.

He is scoring loads of goals in a very poor side playing in a good league and that's in some way bad? He is coming up constantly against defenders that are far better than the players he trains with/against every day and he's still been banging them in for fun.

The guy may be a failure after all, who really knows, but almost every piece of circumstantial evidence points to his being a great success.

Maybe he's scoring an equal number of own goals to actual goals, that would explain it. Now I'm scared.

Pardew thinks he is good enough and will fit into the team. We have been looking at him for a while, so they must be pretty confident.

This really is an absolutely silly thread full of nonsense.

The one thing we're lacking is an out and out finisher. Pardew knows exactly what he's got and its what he wants and we need; Someone at the end of play to put it into the net. No fancy stuff, just score.

Ba works his socks off doing everything, but playing him with Shola or Best is a bit of a waste as theyre not finishers. Ba excels when he has the freedom to roam and drop deep for the ball, linking up play. Cisse will complement him perfectly.

As for the Bundesliga, its easily the most similar league to the premiership, so thats a mute point. As for hsi scoring record... Surely scoring as much as he has in a side as poor as Freiburg (no disrespect to them) is a POSITIVE thing?! With better service in a better side he'd score more right...

If Cisse will hold the line and Ba drops deep i can see a Ferdinand:Sheringham style approach. Main difference is that Ba will be a lot quicker than Sheringham was.
If you add Best and Ameobi into that, we really do have a physically intimidating set of options for our front line. Add HBA and Obertan's pace into that it's quite scary how much potential that we have.

So lets not start haing concerns and issues before the chap has even played for us yet.

I love how without a designated finisher we still have Ba as second top scorer <laugh>

Freiburg only got promoted in 09, they overachieved last season BECAUSE of how amazing Cisse performed, and now they're dropping back down to earth (where they probably should be in the German league - small club, stadium only holds 24k). As everyone's said, don't worry!!

I think you have far too much time on your hands. Not literally, obviously - that would make no sense.

I dont get this article. Strikers are there to score goals which Cisse does, yes defend from the front but you cant blame a striker who is a consistant scorer on the clubs league position. If anything its more impressive that a player scores in a crap team - like Ba did for West Ham!
