I guess we aren't counting caretakers? Tom Wilson had 2 spells managing in the late 80s and early 90s. Playing record: played 5, won 0, drew 2, lost 3. Win percent 0%.
but for those who do like stats - win percentages Premier League Brown 18.42 Bruce 23.68 Phelan 25.00 Silva 36.84 although to be fair Brucies win percentage in our first season in the Prem was 38.8 when he didn't start Junior but only 15 when he did
And on the basis of 23.68% win ratio, he got us to an FA Cup Final, and into the Europa League. Something no other City manager has ever done.
athough the results in appleton's second spell were not mega, i felt the team were playing better than they had the previous season and things were heading in the right direction. then, of course, he got sacked. also worth pointing out that appleton's stint of won 1, drew 8, lost 7, followed the end of eddie gray's reign, wherein his final 19 games yielded one win, 6 draws, and 12 defeats. which reaffirms that i was correct in viewing appleton's second stint as an improvement.
Ok. He was ace, then (very) ****, but not quite as very **** as Eddie Gray who wasn't even ace first (except when he was a player where he really was ace .... except that he played for TWS but I didn't really know them as TWS at that time). .
