Don't think we really needed a $20 million player although would have been nice. Just two $3 to $4 million big hefty lads up front from maybe the lower leagues would have done....players that when the ball gets hoicked into the box go for it and can shift a bit 'bark' up there to take the pressure of Defoe...
We hope to get that for them but I bet we wont even get £10 million for them combined. I can imagine an SAFC car boot sale where it'd be like........ 'how much do you want for him?' '£10 million' 'I'll give you £3.5 million for him' 'oh, go on then.'
You could get £20m if he goes to China. A fair representation would be looking at how much Gabbiadini cost The Saints, if you're selling him to a club in Italy. I think you'll get your money back on him like Bri says. You just have to hope sales are done early to give you the best chance of bouncing back next season, Moyes needs to act fast and decisively.
This is the way I see it too. We've got an owner who's not really known what he's been doing and has made mistake after mistake. And eventually, after a string of managers who've tried their best to struggle under the crap circumstances, he's hit upon a manager who is equally out of his depth and incapable of keeping us up. The pair of them have just metaphorically shut their eyes and hoped that everything will be alright in a lower division. There's no big conspiracy, there's no sinister plan, just a bunch of people who've found it a lot harder to successfully run a club in the Premiership than they thought. That's why the anger with the incompetents running the club that is expressed in the article is spot on and why I find it easy to relate to.
Well he's hardly banged them in and he's not been here permanently long so I can't see how he'd have triggered my of the clauses so we'll have paid closer to the 10m mark than the top end 14m. I reckon we'll get about 9m for him. In 9 annual installments.
