OK! I missed all the banter that went on yesterday. I wasn't suggesting that we erected a statue. I was asking when is an appropriate time! The comment about Ferguson is a good one. If Fergie doesn't have one, no-one should have one. He is far-and-away the most successful football manager of all time. If the modern football game is about 100 years, he has commanded a single team (with a great deal of success) for a whole quarter of that. For the record, I'm no Man Utd fan, just credit where it's due. As for Brendan, the situation is such that we have had a super rise to the top and if (and only if) we retain this status for a few years, I think a public show of appreciation could be in order. As for him going to Spurs, get a grip! a) Harry hasn't gone yet. b) Harry might not go. c) Spurs might want a manger with experience. d) Brendan might have an ounce of integrity. I remember the last two manager races for Paulo and Brendan and the bookies/press got it wrong from start to finish throughout the entire thing. So the idea that "bookies have slashed the odds on Brendan going to Spurs" means it's a done deal is ridiculous. Look at what could happen... We could lose 5 from the last 6 and end up in a relegation dog-fight = no Brendan to Spurs. 'Arry could turn down the England job (it could happen) = no Brendan to Spurs. The FA might think Harry's negative tax press is an issue and not offer him the job = no Brendan to Spurs. Bookies, my ass!
absolutely right i said a while back that the only people who know the facts are brendan and harry and both boards, i personally dont think harry is the right man for the england's top job anyway and im not alone, both managers are not saying anything they are not agreeing or denying any speculations about their futures and i dont think we will know until the seasons over anyway, the bookies are just being bookies like they had us odds on going down.....whatever the outcome we will carry on doing the best we can..
