There are a few cynics on here to-day, the letter is justified imo, a little too saccharin maybe, but he sounds just like we would sound if the situation was reversed. After all it is all about money these days, like it or not.

Why is it justified in your opinion mate?

The FA cup is about living the dream, this is not about justice its about keeping the true football spirit alive up and down the country, we did it once in 1973 and none of us who were lucky enough to be there will never forget it. This decision by the TV companies stinks imo.

'Living the dream' - via your television set?

'True football spirit' - on television?

That's bollocks in my opinion mate, people who sit there chanting on 'their team' for the day, whilst stuffing their faces full of Doritos from the comfort of their living room, do not constitute a true football fan.

Their ground can hold 80% of their entire following that went to Wembley for the League Cup final, yet it gets 13,000 fans on average.

The only reason the money means so much to the club is because their fans are so ****ing awful. Highlighted greatly by this moaning bastard's, **** letter.

IMO quite simply the BBC and BT or whoever puts the live games on did not want to commit to the possibility of a Bradford v Fulham match. Sadly they have to plan the times of the games before the replays take place.

to be disparaging about the entertainment value of any team is a little disingenuous for us Sunderland supporters. I can't think of any team playing less attractive football than us in the last few games mate <ok>

Harsh Terry. There's plenty fans of other clubs who'd like to see them take on the bigger boys. They have a track record of giant-killing, after all. He may be whinging, but he has a point IMO.

If Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal get knocked out there'll be a few TV twats who'd think the whole competition is no longer worth broadcasting!

Then where were they when the Chelsea v Bradford fixture was announced and were told it wasn't on TV? They don't come much 'bigger boys' than Chelsea mate.

They expected a 2nd string side to brush Bradford aside (as we all did). It was at Chelsea and only 4 teams have beaten Jose there (2 of them were Real Madrid and Atletico or Roma or something I think). There was little romance until Bradford scored

Yet every time we see a giant killing they roll out the tired old phrase "The magic of the FA Cup".

If they firmly believe in this 'magic' then that tie had 'magic' written all over it.

No matter which way you look at it, from a neutral point of view, their next fixture is nowhere near as exciting as their last one.

Well, the way that the previous rounds games were chosen I fully expected Bradford v Sunderland an absolute cert for live tv. Its not often that they choose a small team playing away at a premier league team for live tv as usually 90% of the time (my own unofficial stat) the small team get stuffed (again, my own opinion). I found it very unusual that Utd home to Cambridge was picked as a replay live game when potentially it could all be over in the first 10 minutes.

A case could be made for the emphasis of media to the top teams which has led to such lower teams being so poorly supported.
Their next round game will be a lot more winnable, therefore more exciting. No one saw that win at Stamford Bridge coming and there was little interest, same can't be said for the next round.

Make that case then Indy, present what you think is a case to suggest the media are attempting to drive support to the bigger teams. If you're of the disposition that you're influenced that much by the media that you'd either start to support or switch your support to a 'big club' then I'd like to hear how you come about being such a flimsy person.

Regardless of whether they win their next round game or they get hammered, why is a 'fan' complaining that the game isn't on television? That's the problem, his team don't need his support behind the television set, they need it in the stadium. Aside from that it's money, and it's essentially just ****ing begging.

They don't make the same efforts to beg when it comes to games vs Doncaster, they're inferring that they're entitled to a handout because they beat Chelsea, **** them, that's pathetic.

    They'll live <ok>

Fans of other clubs should be watching their own team, plus they can watch MOTD later and see Bradford if they want.

The OP just appeared to be making the point of "what does a little club have to do to get on the telly" with the attendant financial spin off.

As football has evolved over the past ten years especially your view of the FA cup may have diminished over the years as the bigger clubs now tend do play their second stringers in the rounds but, hey presto, out comes the first team for the final possibly because it gets them in the record book. The same happens to the League Cup.

Everyone needs a hand up in football at one time or another hence the special transfer dispensations given to ManU in 1958 where they reached the final and everyone had them as their second team and desperately wanted them to win.

The phrase of magic of the FA cup is coined for clubs like ours and Southampton and Coventry who beat some of the biggest clubs in football in a final to win a trophy.

The Bradford letter writer is making it sound as though they've been expelled from the league.

They're not on the telly in the FA Cup, big deal .......... neither are most of the clubs in the country.

They've been given a home draw, and a full house, with the chance of progressing into the quarter final ....... not the end of the world is it?

football is not what it used to be ,the rules have been changed to suit who knows ,nobody knows what is happening any more ,fecking active play ,first stage, second stage ,pro fouls, last man ,first man feck knows how it works ,brush a player FOUL, get a corner all embrace and dance as one accusing each other ,get a corner what ever you do dont put the ball in the quadrant ffs ,above all fecking constantly moan ,gesticulate ,feign injury, scream out loud at every chance ,always fall forward if being tugged in the slightest backwards ffs, after feigning injury always limp to the touchline looking at the mourners in the crowd then come sprinting back on again ,what a bag of ****e,also have a version of your name on your shirt as a fashion thing not your actual name .
lets go backwards to go forwards ,nothing wrong with the basis of rules concerning off side etc in the past at least every body had a fair idea instead of the farce its become

Another point is that it's nice to have a bit of variety on the TV. Bradford is a bit of a novelty for fans of Prem clubs and it does help make a change.

And let's face it. The title race is more of an arms race to see who can stockpile the best players, Citeh or Chelski. Now they're out the whole thing is a lot fresher in my eyes.

typical attitude of those who follow the big boys ,is that the football world is about them it is not its about the game its self ,if the game loses its very foundations as a sport its kaput. ............. good film im alright jack
