I wonder what it is the board sees in Adams. It is safe to say the reaction on this board has been universally negative to his appointment and I too am wondering why we took so long then to then decide Neil Adams would manage the club. Of course everybody said that they would get behind our new manager whatever may be but let's face it Adams hasn't even started the job and is already not going to be popular (as a manager that is, not as a servant to the club) and if we start next season badly I can see fans turning on him real quick.

""Neil impressed us when he stepped up to the plate for the last five games of the season[...]" Well I gotta say he didn't impress me tbh, regardless of the nature of the opposition 1 point from 15 and failing to score in four of five games isn't impressive.

Is Neil Adams the right man to lead us as we look to try and bounce back from relegation? I really don't know...

Well said.

I don't think our board made any effort in regards to appointments they made a few offers but didn't bother negotiating and went for a cheap safe option. With the whole timeline thing they contradicted themselves, it just proves what a group of amateurs we have at this club.

Surely the lengthening of the timeline indicates the exact opposite... that they were probably making a significant effort to get someone other than Neil Adams?

Mick Dennis has had his say on proceedings very interesting point about him dealing with two disciplinary issues well, I'd hazard a guess at Bassong and Gutierrez both very much Hughton's men. Persoanly whilst underwhelmed I'm willing to give it a go. I've heard and Mick also states that Adams truing sessions were very popular with the players, was this decision driven by the players? theres too much stuff we don't know for all the wild speculating that is flying around.

Recruitment and technical proceedings seem to be being moved out of his hands so the idea that he's never had to sign a player is irrelevant if his job is basically to run training sessions, which he seems good and popular at and to decide oN tactics which he seemed alright at and was far less rigid than Hughton. then this could be a success, it might not, bout basing opinions on the little we currently know is mad and can only affect the club negatively.
 
very surprised at Adams appointment, whether it is the cheap option or staying faithful to Adams i don't know but he would not be my choice...good luck to him he will need it ...

Agree but I was equally surprised with Gary Monk's appointment. I like Swansea but if I was a Jacks fan I'd be worried...
 
Yes, bizarre. It's almost as if the Board want to put themselves at odds with the fans.

In this age, multi-million pound businesses (and even 'little old Norwich' are that) don't do anything without surveys and polls and focus groups to find out what their 'customers' are thinking. The Board MUST have known that this decision would not be popular. All the polls I've seen on various websites showed very little support for Adams as permanent manager. I'm not saying they should always pander to popular demand, but this decision seems perverse: almost a form of passive aggression.

They probably think they took the safe option, but this is actually a massive risk to both the Board themselves and our club. Let's just pray it comes off and those of us who are saying 'WTF?' all have egg on our faces this time next year.
 
Agreed VC but the point that I can't get past is that none of us (as far as I'm aware) have been involved in this hire and know nothing of the facts behind who else was considered and how those discussions went. I'm inclined to agree with Bath here... There are elements to Adams' style that mean the training and tactics side of the job are probably very well handled by Neeyul. The scouting and business side of the job will be handled elsewhere anyway.

You seem to be pretty knowledgable about everything that went on chap, you sound very confident that you know how negotiations did, or didn't go - not a fly on the wall were you?
