If we had started the season poor - say the first 10 games and then gone on a good run. Some people on here would be jumping for joy! Even though we would be in the same position. What I am trying to say is it's over the whole season not just part of it. Leeds have been playing well, but they have taken a whipping on more than one occasion. "We will assemble a strong management team at every level of the club. We will act rapidly, but also plan for the long term"
Well said. Almost every club in the top half of any table will go through a purple patch at some point during their season. 5 wins in a row, unbeaten in 12 games, 7 wins out of 9, whatever, whatever, whatever. The only thing which makes our purple patch stand out from everyone else's (for example, I think Derby have been flying recently, but being down the league, not everyone has noticed) is that ours started on day 1 of the season. There was no gap to make up between us and top, so we went straight there. That did not mean for one second that we were the best side in the league, just that for that period of time we were better than anyone else. (And for me, the momentum carried over from last season coupled with us being injury-free was the reason for that purple patch). The season is 46 games long, not 25.
Really, Brendy? There are 21 more games to play? Oh, only I have been reading some of the merchants of gloom on here, and I just assumed that we only had 3 games left. Perhaps I should get out of bed and stop moping?
Well if we were coming into form now I'd be optimistic that we'd grown into the division and had figured out how to play in it, at the moment it looks like we had a good start and the other teams have worked us out, which is much less reassuring! I'm confident we'll get past this run of poor form and be up there at the end of the season, but it is concerning.
