Strong rumor that Kiko is going back to Spain and we are looking at Joe Hart? Kiko got a 4 year deal but lots happened in the dressing room since Wigan??? and Derby
Who the hell gave him a 4 year deal, thought we had learnt a lesson with all the other crap on 4 year deals. Obviously not
Have a look at this video of him in action, I wonder what changed when he joined us. https://www.realmadrid.com/en/fans/videos/2015/07/a-look-at-kiko-casilla
Just to be my usual negative self. On initial viewing looks good, then again on 2nd viewing seems good at palming the ball away would have been better if he could hang on to the ball a bit. Reminds me of what you could call a Kiko promotion video produced by his agent.
And there was reports that Saiz was getting interest in Spain but in a very Leeds move this might scupper it
Had 2 days of seeing the same story so have updated the first post as Fernando Llorente seems to be mentioned a lot. His last game for Spurs will be the Champions League Final then he leaves on a free transfer. Played for Bielsa before and worships him for giving him a top career as a striker. He fits in with all the other rumours as he's free?
Interesting. Never heard of him. We tried taking a punt like this before with Erwin & it didn't go well. Then again, if we'd had Bielsa ..... https://www.footballfancast.com/cha...g-up-on-big-name-signings-by-targeting-brophy Transfer Focus: Leeds giving up on big-name signings by targeting Brophy According to a report by TEAMtalk, Leeds United are interested in signing Kilmarnock striker Eamonn Brophy this summer. The forward wouldn’t cost a bomb, and he would provide the Whites with some much-needed reinforcement up top. The 23-year-old has had a decent campaign up in Scotland. He has netted 11 goals in 32 games in the Scottish Premier League, and form like that has seen him garner interest from Rangers, Derby and of course Leeds. Although many accuse the standard of football of being poor in the SPFL, Brophy has proven he has what it takes to make the move across to the Championship. He has netted three goals against Celtic and Rangers this season, and with those two teams being of such quality he should have no problem adapting to new surroundings in England. With Brophy likely to be available for a minimal fee, Leeds may have realised that spending big money on a striker isn’t always worth it. The Yorkshire club forked out £10 million on Patrick Bamford this time last year, and that transfer didn’t pan out as they would have hoped. The former Middlesbrough man only scored nine times for the Whites this season, which isn’t anywhere near good enough when you consider the number of chances his team created. Marcelo Bielsa’s side actually had the worst conversion rate in the division, and bringing in someone who knows where the net is will certainly help fix that. If Brophy comes to Elland Road, he will undoubtedly get better service than he currently gets at Rugby Park, and if he can bring over his striking instincts and finishing ability, there’s no reason he can’t become one of the most prolific strikers in the Championship..
Isn't this the guy who has just tweeted that he is looking forward to playing in Europe next season? albeit in the qualifying rounds
Front post updated again this time with a winger on loan. Read this once before but a usually reliable source posted this on twitter
Think this pretty much kills off the Llorente fantasy .... https://thisisfutbol.com/2019/05/blogs/hay-leeds-will-not-be-moving-for-fernando-llorente/
yeah it was me that asked him so a bit peed off. Getting someone like him on a free is no worse than getting Abel Hernandez on a free and paying him a huge salary. Thats what we tried to do last season, so I thought this would be better as he loves Bielsa having played for him before. Just reading that we are trying to sell Lewie Coyle, so obviously want a few quid for him. I thought he would have been released after being out on loan for 2 seasons and surplus to requirements, but guess we are going to take a hit on some of the others?
Just getting his wages off the bill is a plus. The lump of cash is a bonus. Now, if only we could get rid of all of our deadwood this close season, think of all the wages we wouldn't be paying out. If we could get rid of, for instance, this 'Dirty Dozen', let's say at an average of £5k a week, then that's £60k a week freed up, or £3m a year. Anita, Cibicki, Coyle, De Bock, Denton, Ekuban, Grot, Ideguchi, O'Connor, O'Kane, Sacko, Saiz. Realistically, we could only expect about £5m in fees (less all the usual deductions). Hopefully they'll all go, or at worst, go out on loan, so we don't have to pay off contracts. Every little counts!
Anyone know when the deadline is for issuing the retained list? June 30th rings a bell, somehow or other.
Cibicki has said it looks like his time at Leeds is over. He would come back if the club asked him and he said he was upset by treatment from Heckingbottom who refused to pick him. He has had 2 successful loans with Malmo amd now Elfsborg where he has scored 4 from 11 games which is good for a winger
