Tinman had 1 full season and 7 games as team manager and finished 7th,1 outside the play-offs,7 games later he resigned with dignity having achieved W1,D3 and L3..

Gary Johnson took over and we ended up 9th in div 1 in his first season,2nd in his first full season and got automatic promotion and then the play-off finals with a 4th,then 10th,ending with him resigning again with dignity and the season ending with us in 10th,the last 10 games Millen being in charge.

Apart from 1 league game Millen has had total control for 1 complete season plus the previous 10 games,served under Wilson in charge of youth and no 2 to Tinnion,Johnson and Coppout,8 years in total and what is he asking us to celebrate,no relegation and with just 2 games to go we are down to 16th position and it could get lower,our lowest and worst position in the Championship for 4 years.

I don't call that success and it means we are going backwards, I think next season we are going to struggle,only this time Millen cannot blame previous managers,lack of time,viruses,injuries or other managers signings.

He will have no one to blame and Steve Lansdown won't be there to protect him,I won't deny he's made 2 good signings in Stead and Pitman and 2 loan signings were excellent but next season things are different.

I hope most sincerely I'm wrong but I feel more insecure about next season than I've felt for years.
 
Not too bad considering we were supposed to guaranteed relegation under Millen.

As for GJ, it was Millen who got us to 10th, under johnson we would have gone down IMO.

And to compare it to Tinnions time in charge is flawed, with Tinnion in charge we were one of the bigger spenders in league one, were far from that in the Championship, in fact were not even top half.
 
After the start you had this season I would have thought you would have been pretty pleased - seemed to stabilise your ship

Not sure i entirely agree. I think i'm slowly being won round by Keith. Whereas it wasn't a great season, KM ended up doing reasonably well. The fact is none of us will ever know why we got off to the terrible start that we did, but we did.

In the end KM steered us well clear and winning seemed to come far more often between mid and end of the season.

Of course there's going to be some worry about next season, after all, KM is not a proven manager, but even the best managers need to start off somewhere.

I think that we have a good base to plan for next season. We'll just have to see what KM brings in over the summer to see exactly what his aspirations are.

Little things about KM are giving me slight confidence. The most recent article on the OS about players not being able to swan off on their own holidays at the end of may, and being required to attend training suggests to me that we're headed in the right direction.

Wize, I've generally agreed with you in the past but on this occasion believe you to be heading down a dead-end. I am not for a second saying Millen is THE man, InhopentonGod he is but who knows. However, to compare him with Tinnion is totally irrelevant. We were one of the biggest clubs in Lge 1, with one of the biggest wage bills, and expectations that leftnno-one in any doubt where we should be. Compare that with our 18th/19th average crowding the nPower Chmp. Why can't fans just be thankful that weve stabilised in the second tier, Christ we'd have all been desperate for that four years ago?

Give KM a season and let's see how we go. We have nondivine right to Benin the ropm2, or 6, or even top half, so let's be grateful for what we've got & move on from here
