Isn't that the committee the HCC is meant to chair and run, and hasn't? One of their obligations they haven't met that's a bone of contention with the SMC as its meant there's been no effort to get that place used? Last line looks like they've not got a leg to stand on about this, but at least they're doing the job they're meant to. Finally.
I hope to god it gets refused What a waste of time and money Even the big clubs don't bring anyone through Let's keep it for the community **** hull city who do they think they are Why don't they put all the other people who dare play another sport against a wall and shoot em !! It's a community facility
What is that the council that stumped up the money for the stadium Without that , Pearson wouldn't have bought City and we'd have probably gone out of the league. Or has everyone forgot that??? Short memories eh
Yeah that worked out well didn't it. Oh wait, thats because Dr Allam saved the club, post Pearson, from total extinction. Regardless of stadium, or anything else that had gone previously, without Dr Allam, there would literally be no club to support. Selective memories eh?
Agreed. And the council did it mostly with FC in mind. Hopefully some of our more mentally challenged posters will remember that before gobbing off with their ill thought out delusional bile.
Not true. Portsmouth survived with 4 times the amount of debt. The club would still exist as a football league club just most likely not as a premier league club.
I take it you think it's perfectly acceptable for hundred of people to lose access to a sports facility so that a company with an £85m turn-over doesn't have to spend anything building it's own?
It depends on the terms of the lease and whether the SMC is in breach of any of the conditions. I haven't seen the lease so don't know what's in it but the Council might have to be informed if there is a change of use, or if the SMC want to lay a 3g carpet. The use of the Airco Arena may mean the SMC complies with its community use obligations. If that's now gone then the SMC is in breach of the conditions of the lease. Hull City Council by asking for a meeting with the community use group is giving the SMC the opportunity to explain how they will comply. They will follow all the necessary legal steps before terminating the lease and this could be the first. I've taken you meant the legal ability to. Whether they have the balls to do so is another matter, unless this dance has all been prearranged.
A contrived action to enable the first stage of restructuring before the club is sold and a different relationship evolves.
