    Good listening?

It is quite ****ty, but I assume these new facilities will also be for hire?

It will be a fantastic facility for the city to have, it's just a shame probably more people will lose out than gain from it.

Why are they installing a 3G pitch anyway? They're old hat, it's all about 4G pitches these days.

I didn't actually listen to it, I've just been following people tweeting about it.

It won't be available for hire, it has to be a facility for the exclusive use of the academy.

Then that is really, really ****ty. I assume the squash court will be available for hire though?

Does exclusive use for the academy mean the first team shouldn't be able to use it either?

The squash court is a temporary structure that's just being installed for the Squash Open, it won't be there normally.

I doubt there'd be an issue with the first team training there, the rules are just to prevent clubs from using a facility that's open to the public.

With that rule, what's going on with the facilities we're renting at the college?

Does that mean the college can't use their own facilities? Do they not rent out their pitches for 6 a side leagues etc like almost every other school in the country?

That rule is specific to the indoor 3/4G training facilities.

Yes it's not a very good PR exercise by the Allams yet again, but shouldn't we, as a City, be offering more indoor facilities like this. We should have indoor facilities catering for these sporting clubs dotted across Hull. Yet our useless council are carrying out no repairs or upgrades at their own council run facilities. Rather than offering their own strategy for amateur sport, they are greedily looking at setting up their own development company in a bid to ensure that the same old dinosaurs are able to obtain any profits. It's an absolute joke that our City's sporting future is left in the hands of some brainless 80 something idiot of OPE.

I also see this petition against the eviction is being hijacked by Hull FC numbskulls. On their own pathetic website, the one were they spend more time slagging off City rather than concentrating on their own joke sport, they are signing the petition in their droves despite having no interest in the sports affected. The well intentioned petition is being used by the usual suspects as another tool to stick the boot into the Allams and Hull City.

I sympathise with those genuinely affected, and maybe they should have been given a longer notice period, but there are alternatives out there. What about the recently refurbished Haltemprice Leisure Centre? It's just a shame they have to move outside the Hull boundary because our own Council have no idea when it comes to getting people involved in sport or offering the right number of facilities.

At the end of the day, my priority is Hull City AFC. I am delighted we are obtaining better facilities for our Academy. As a priority we need our youngsters to be playing at a much better standard of football. Let's hope we obtain our Category 2 status as soon as possible. Football is the most popular sport and the sport that puts our Club and City on the national and international map. We should forget the jealous eggchasers and use the power of football to improve our Club and City.

Haltemprice is absolutely packed every time I go. They've got an enormous car park now, yet I still ended up parking on the road outside the other night. I'd be surprised if they've got room for a load more clubs.

This sounds a very shabby way to do things, I used to be involved with Gymnastics with my daughters and to find a suitable venue in a month will be very difficult.

Well, as ****ty as this is, the people of Hull and the council brought this on themselves.

The council should have approved the sports village in which case there'd be far more facilities for public use, and the people of Hull for some reason voted that set of **** wits back in.

It's worth remembering the council gave Allam the opportunity to do this with that pathetic lease agreement which just underlines their ineptitude.

I'm so ****ing glad I don't live in Hull.

The Council did approve the sports village. They offered Allam a joint venture. He turned them down. If he'd have said yes it would have been up by now.

I'm glad the Council didn't give him the freehold. "I wanted to give something back to the community", yes, an eviction notice to a disabled basketball team so he can try and get a Category 2 academy.

How do you know the lease agreement gives him the right to do this? By doing this the Allams may be trying to break the lease.

Nearly 1800 signatures on the petition now.

I love the fact we're investing in the infrastructure of the club, but does it really have to be done in such a ****e way.

The bad publicity really isn't needed in our own city.

The upgrading of our academy is right at the top of my wish list. It's far more important than signing fancy new players,or even staying in the premier league this season.

But this isn't the way to do things. A premier league football club should try to support the community, especially when it comes to sport.

I'll be signing this petition myself.

This is a facility built by Hull City Council, for the benefit of the people of Hull, so it's a bit rich to then slag them off for not having enough facilities when they've basically just had this one stolen from them.

Though they're obviously idiots for not making sure it was impossible for the tenant to kick everyone out and use it for their own benefit.

I'd rather keep our current academy status than go ahead with this. It's just wrong on all levels.

Precisely how I feel. It's a bloody good job things are going ok on the pitch at the minute cos it seems that we're getting everything else wrong as a club.

Is the lack of comment from the council a signal that lawyers are heavily in action I wonder?

Exactly, none of this "my priority is Hull City" bollocks.

Priority has to be right over wrong surely.
