You know, I can't help thinking that for a little initial outlay, there's a whole life time of NOT having to mow the garden if I had some of that stuff put in. How nickable is it? I don't mean I need tips on how to go get someone elses, I meant for my own security, obvz.
Rule 285.3 clearly says any new facility must be at the principal venue (Bishop Burton). As a new facility it shouldn't qualify. Something for the fans meeting?
All of the sods are woven together so it would be like pinching a carpet (Godfather-esque); proper lazy sods!
Roll up and go? Kinell. Might need to upgrade the terrier. Hah just kidding! He could see any ****er off.
The Airco Arena wasn't built as a training ground for Hull City, it was built as a sports centre for the community. Anyway you look at it this is wrong. At the end of the day these facilities were built by Hull City Council for the community to use. It's definitely not ok for the club to take away this community asset.
A new facility is not being built, an old facility is being converted and as other clubs already have facilities that are not at their academy sites, I think there's a decent chance it will be accepted, particularly as he rules only state 'ideally a Club’s indoor facility should be located at its principal venue'. .
The KC was build as a stadium for the community. The facilities are owned by HCC, nowt's being done to them without their explicit agreement. But more importantly, has anyone got any of this fake grass in their gardens?
Not only will they not have the councils explicit agreement, I expect the council are absolutely ****ing livid about this. The reason this is being done, is just because it can be, the council obviously didn't put anything in place to stop it happening. I'm all for improving our academy facilities, but whatever way you look at this, it's really ****ing shabby.
Aha, we have some verifiable facts about what's happened, why and so on? Link? If its shown to be the way you're suggesting, I agree, it's shabby, it's also another damning indictment of just how inept the HCC are too.
Couldnt agree more. It's just further evidence of the 'we're powerful, we do what we want and dont care who it upsets' attitude that we're seeing time and again. I'm pretty sure a high proportion of those affected by this will be / could be future City fans and it's massively, massively ****ty. There's a way to behave and sadly this isnt it. I wonder how much involvement Tony Pennock had in selecting this as the venue rather than trying to remedy it with a proper, purpose built facility. Would another 2 years have killed us?
The council built the arena for the use of the community, not for the private use of Hull City, as I'm sure they'll confirm themselves shortly. Until then, you can find confirmation on - www.itsbleedingobvious.com I have absolutely no doubt that if the council were in a position to stop this, they would do so. The following have all now been given one months notice to quit - 5 a-side football, Netball, Hulls Angels Roller Dames, Hockey, Basket Ball, Gymnastics, High Fliers Trampoline, Wheelchair basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Wrestling, Parkour and Free running. Still, it's good news for the East Riding, they're all being told to relocate to Haltemprice Leisure Centre.
But the rest of the sentence is important. The aim is to have everything in one place but the Premier League recognise that some clubs already have facilities in different locations. I accept that if the Premier league say its ok we'll get Category 2 status but it sets a precedent. If Assem Allam hasn't come to an agreement with the Council over the future of the SMC we could be in for some interesting times ahead.
I think this pretty much confirms for certain that the Allam's have no intention of handing control of the SMC back to the council.
Hang on, thats a 180 turn...In recent days we've been told on here that the Allams are 100% handing the SMC back to HCC with some other unspecified agreements and deals going on. You wonder why I dislike idle speculation and "its obvious" type statements, when, it never is.
Maybe, maybe not. If they are doing this to get back at the council then they may have a lot to lose. Interesting times ahead.
