Konsa, I see four options? Gobinson doesn't rate him..... this doesn't compute with Gobbo's post season comments about Konsa staying with us (getting game time) rather than rot in a prem teams Under 23's The Club are trying to give him a summer break (in August) as he was in England's U20 squad for the World Cup so missed his summer holiday He may be carrying a slight knock He is being sold this summer but Everton have not met our valuation yet.... why Everton you say?... they are interested & Lookman is there already.
Konsa was this summer's cash cow, and the cow needs to be milked (hence no signings). Let's see where we are on deadline day.
I would sooner see a team that is capable of spreading the goals around rather than focusing on two strikers that can rustle up 30 between them over a course of a season. It looks like we are not going to have a squad to do this so consequently we will certainly not make top two, and struggle for the play-offs. Let's go down and see where we are with the Belgians come June 2018..........................
Set aside the urgent team requirement to sign a striker to help Magennis. Surely even the craven Apologists can see that Meire has had over 100 days this summer to sign a striker. Watt was rubbish, but he has left. It is rank incompetence and bad planning to have left it this late to sign a player in such an important position for the team. I think we all know what is coming next. Ignore Gobbo's ridiculous comments about £1.5m-2m fees. We will get a last min striker on loan - an unfit cast off that nobody else wants. Jeddez will proceed to have his first semi for at least 10 years, while the rest of us hurry to Google the poor bastard concerned.
If we are talking SeriouslyIrritating then yes, to end with "Let's see where we are" makes all the previous dross irrelevant. I imagine in the real world and not behind a laptop, the geezer cannot make a decision to save his life.
Good to see Magennis looking more like his old self yesterday, particularly in the first half. Aggressive and mobile and a handful for Northampton's cart horses. He looked absolutely shattered at full time. The risk of fatigue-related injury is obvious, and our formation is going to be cattled without him. I would argue that we need two strikers before 31 Aug, not just one.
Robinson is now talking about 3-4 very exciting players on the club's radar as possible signings this week. A winger (not needed) and a striker. He is going to look a t1t if we don't get them, or if we do get them and they are loans.
He also said that there is a chance that no one will be coming in. To be fair to Robinson he has been pushing for players but if it is not sanctioned by Duchatelet there is little that he can do.
DP is right - you can't fault KR in his efforts to sign players, but hes fighting a battle with the opposition and his own boss. I saw a little glimpse of how he was having to negotiate and it was a mess.
