Colin is the same on Twitter. He posts barefaced lies ("Charlton in for Wayne Rooney") and is then impervious when everyone rips the p1ss out of him.

I am encouraging him to mount a coup on ITTV against Reams.

Just looking at John Akinde's record - an extremely average career spent at around 11 clubs in the lower/ non leagues, including a couple of loan spells.

Barnet are asking £1m for him <laugh>

I am not a great fan of Nicky Ajose, but more muddled thinking here - why send out on loan a striker who cost £600,000 and look to bring in another journeyman striker who has never proved himself at League 1 level ?

I understand the problem with Ajose was more to do with the man himself than his ability.
Apparently he simply does not want to play for Charlton Athletic.

That's pretty unprofessional if true. But nobody can make him play well and score goals for us if he just isn't interested.

Osman Sow has joined MK Dons. That rumour didn't last long.

Was it barely 10 years ago we moaned about spending a combined £7m on 3 strikers - Luke Varney, Izzy Macleod and Andy Gray.

Was it barely 5 years ago that we winced as we signed past-his-best Akpo Sodje and Deon Burton.

Now we are signing a striker who's career highlight to date was a penalty at Welling.

Deon Burton did very very well for us.... even when Refs continually (and unfairly) penalised him

Maybe that's our new scouting system. Release a player's name to float around on social media, see how it goes down, then make a decision on recruiting him based on the fans' reaction?

many a true word...I also think Robinson's comment about spending £1.5-£2m on a striker was written for him. That way, when we get a loan, a freebie or a 250k cast off, the club can say the market is too expensive. The same happened in January. Every other club as well as every referee wants to shaft big hitting, big spending Charlton..

A bizarre overnight post from Seriously Red elsewhere, talking about how the club is on course to achieve something called "sustainable growth". ??? <laugh>

This is strange, because the last time I checked average home attendances were down by approx 40% under the Duchatelet Regime.

What "sustainable growth" really means therefore is a section of our support giving the Regime the green light to go on asset stripping players - a desperate and short sighted fig leaf whereby Meire's numerous mistakes on signings and contracts and generally p1ssing the fans off are weakly covered up on the balance sheet by flogging home grown talent like Gomez, Cousins, Pope and Lookman.

It seems that the Dripping Wet wing of our support, epitomised by the likes of the human pork scratching SR, is content with this policy, but please don't pretend it is some kind of "sustainable growth" policy when it is nothing of the sort.

Just sign us a frigging decent striker.

I repeatedly put this prick on the spot by asking him whether he was going to renew his season ticket for 16/17, he would never answer the question.

He likes a stat and boring the bottom off of everybody.

Under Roland Duchatelet and Katrien Meire we have achieved sustainable growth in
    1. Bars, lounges and hospitality packages
    2. Empty seats
    3. Staff turnover
    4. League defeats (up from 29.3% under MS & TJ to 39.5% under RD)
    5. Meetings
    6. Managers rueing things
    And not much else.
Frankly I don't care much about balance sheets and financial reports. I'm a football fan, not a trainee accountant.
Instead of sustainable growth can we have some ambition, team spirit and competitiveness o the pitch?

So KR said he wanted a striker to replace Ajose, so now that TW has gone, can we expect two strikers to be signed, or does RD get his own way, allow one to be signed then demand a kid is thrown in..?

It looks like no new striker. From today's press conference.

"No" - KR when asked if #cafc are close to signing a striker. Says he can't guarantee one will come in before the transfer window shuts.

If we're going down the loan route - which will be the case should we not sell Konsa/Mag - then I wouldn't expect to see someone come in until the end of the window.

Clubs will be monitoring he starts their squad makes before deeming players surplus to requirements.

I read Jake Bacon's question to KR on the striker - the defeatism and lack of professionalism is laughable - particularly as we have been in this last min panic position so many times before - who could have foreseen this happening ?

    We don't need two strikers.

Under Robinson's preferred system, you can only play one striker at a time.

What is the point of paying a striker who won't start every game.
