In fairness I don't think it's limited to us but there's definitely been an increase in general dickhead-ish behaviour.

Much higher amount of people on the gear too it seems which is probably a big factor in it.

Terribly sorry everyone, this one is on me entirely.

As you know/may have spotted, I've been away all weekend. I did put my Saints out-of-office on, but sadly made a spelling mistake and put "Revert The Mechanism" instead of Reverse.

Hence why we went back to being turd and losing heavily.

Normal service resumed and reversed for Thursday.

100% a gear thing. It's pathetic, and also quite confusing - why spend 40-50 quid on a bag, 30-40 quid on a ticket, and then have a day you don't end up remembering. Bizarre.

It's a societal issue as much as anything (which is always reflected at football) and you'll see similar behaviour in city centres in the early hours. The excessive drinking it brings is as much the issue as the gear itself imo.

A much bigger proportion of 18-30 year olds do it compared to even 10-15 years ago and it's deemed more socially acceptable as a result.

Glad you're carrying the can for this one, I started the game in my Sanderson Pony yellow shirt then changed to my traditional red polo at halftime, it didn't work. I hope Fran will be forgiving she seems to blame us all.

Back in the day disco biscuits gave many on the terraces a happy smile.

Btw I realise there'll be people reading my posts on this and thinking I'm a right hypocrite ... <laugh>

And they'd have a point tbf but I've never acted like that at a football match and always knew my limitations which seems to be a lost thing among many these days.

Plus, as Laces alludes to, I've never seen the point of getting so trashed that you can't remember the game. Though Inter at home came close :bandit:

Can I just say that Saints' defeat is almost entirely my fault - Yesterday was my first away match of the season, and I can see that my presence must have angered the footballing gods. As such, I promise to limit my 'in-person' support to home games. Oh, and I'll get a new piece of wood to touch...:(

Have gotten into this ritual when l go to St Mary's of having a Cumberland sausage in a long bap from a stall just before you get to the ground, l have it with fried onions and brown sauce. Help's soak up the beer l've had in the run up to the match! <laugh>

Actually I messed up too, kept checking the score which I normally don't do! I thought it was time to join in the 'live' process rather than wait until 5pm. So unless I'm at a match, not likely for a while with back problems, I'll keep off this site and live scores until further notice.

PS training sessions tomorrow will be interesting, one or two or more might wish they could throw a sickie note in and be elsewhere?

I was at the Winchester match on Saturday so did not follow the commentary on Solent as I was with my nephew. I was not surprised we lost this match as we had enjoyed a string of impressive results and performances such that a reversal was overdue in some respects. A number of key players were missing and I just felt we must have run out of steam. I don't think it will have a bearing on the season but, by the same token, I hope it does not signify that we have mentally taken our foot off the gas.
