Bigjohn, I wouldn't say we have many problems - relegation certainly isn't one of them. Sure we were desperately poor today, but a couple of signings in the right positions and a new season will see us going well. Remember, you've made your judgement on one game, the rest of us on here have seen a transformation since New Year <ok>.

accrington took 131 fans to us today. they were in a relegation dogfight trying to survive in league 2 yet they took more that city to hull in a championship match!

it wasnt pretty. since o'toole went back to colchester and woodards injury our CM is a shambles and very lightweight. we played a CB (parkes) today in CM and clarke who made his 1st career start in the blue and white in CM. that position is our weakness. we didnt look like conceding and didnt look like scoring either. we missed that creative player which we had in o'toole to break down the opposition. im expecting a similar performance vs torquay next weekend.

131 stanley fans in league 2 doing a 400 mile round trip - so more of them travelling further than city had to travel to hull. cracking stuff <laugh>

Just a thought on Mr Lansdown.

Despite all of the spending, it's relegation for Bristol City.

Despite the spending to acquire Bristol Rugby club who were walking the Championship at the time of his purchase, when within a few short weeks later the Rugby Club didn't even make the final for the promotion match to reach the Premiership. This year with Newcastle having a 100% record, it looks very probable that Bristol will not get promoted yet again.

He has now sponsored the Bristol Academy Women's Rugby team who after a long time association with the Rovers have changed their club colours from blue to red. Will they succeed or fail?

Is Mr Lansdown despite his expensive acquisitions, just a Jonah when it comes to his sporting associations an ambitions?

Definition of Jonah- One who is thought to bring bad luck

    Any views?

But why slag of Steve Lansdown, sure he didn't spend his money wisely on us. But we all know that he does know how to make money so he probably has plans for the future.
He bought the rugby club to use AG so that the ground is used on a regular basis. He bought Bristol Ladies to use the academy to gain cat 2 status.

And also to put Bridtol on the sporting map!!

You lot seem to forget that this ground will sort you out but at the moment you are also in debt to 6m not saying its as bad as ours by a long way. Without this new ground you will struggle as much as we will, and that's it!
I would like to know where these extra 15k fans are coming from but good luck to you if you get them. Gong on about how many you took to play off final / JPT cup final is irrelevant they don't turn up now for you or for us.
I'm happy your getting your ground because simply I can go and watch a band play there rather than Wembley Ricoh or Millenium (not far but still further away than your ground). But equally I'm happy for the city of Bristol.
Your constant remarks about SL stinks of jealousy! To hope someone fails in your home city is just pathetic, you can hate City but why mock someone buying other sports in his home city???

i would mention the errors in this like 'gong' but i know you meant 'going', so as i know what you mean, the point you are making is still understandable ;)

i fully agree with every bit you put in that comment. the only thing i have against pantsdown is that he is a stinking red ;) and that he dont pay his tax's as hides in guernsey the tax dodging muppet <grr>
apart from that he has dont well in bristol and got people in jobs ect.

Ah, but you miss my point. There was nothing in my post which suggests that I am slagging Mr Lansdown off.
I have no issue with anyone who attempts to improve the status of sport in my City although I think one would need to look a little bit more carefully to decide whether Mr L's intentions are entirely lacking in the attainment of personal financial improvement.
I am certainly not jealous of his financial input elswhere. The situation of other football clubs who have become slaves to the financial investor do not always inspire confidence.
I think on the balance of what has been achieved by the two Boards in question, the Rovers' seem to have a better business acumen when football business matters need to be sorted out.

OK both Boards have made some bad decisions regarding the appointment of managers, but I think those decisions were jeopardised by attitude problems within the dressing room. In City's case for example, I feel Mr Coppell saw the problems and decided to walk away rather than tackle the issues.

As far as sporting success or failure goes I am simply concerned that everything that Mr Lansdowne gets involved in seems to go pear-shaped. I do emphasise that I refer to sporting matters.

Try doing it on a iPad with the touch screens. I can type on my keyboard for the docking station but on here it's one finger typing. And half the time it try's and predicts what your typing so you forget to check it <doh>
