Would be even better with removal of just one game (Arsenal 6-1).

That's the key though, it's only one game really (and perhaps the 1-4 against West Ham). We've only lost by more than a single goal in six games (out of 18 we've lost), and the impact of the 6-1 was mitigated somewhat by beating Villa 4-1 in the next game.

Our defence is certainly paradoxical, jointly with Villa we've got the worst defensive record away from home (helped by that 6-1 of course), but one of the best at home - for comparison we've conceded fewer goals at home than Arsenal and only two more than United!

That begs the question...why can't we get the results we need? Not too bad defensively, quite good at scoring....just need to get both in the same game!!

That probably boils down to too many individual errors. At least Boruc has sorted our GK dilemma!

With Adkins, you knew that even though we were going to concede a lot we'd get a goal or two. Under Pochettino, we're more focued on our defensive duties hence the goals drying up.

We seem to have lost the knack of scoring from set pieces, corners in particular, but when was the last time a direct free kick came even close to hitting the net?

I don't want Southampton to go down but I have to say that I think the managerial change was a mistake.I sincerely hope it doesn't come back to haunt you.Especially if the beneficiary is QPR.

Newcastle away - Rickie's free kick was well saved.

Ramirez hit the bar with one and Lambert's had a couple on target lately. So there are three examples from the last three or four games. Similarly Yoshida was unlucky not to score from a corner against QPR. I don't think there's anything particularly deficient about our set pieces lately compared with earlier, it's just luck, sometimes they go in, sometimes they don't.

Did he? Lambert definitely did against Newcastle but I don't remember Ramirez doing so.

He means the player's bar after he's hauled off at half-time or around the hour mark...!!

Errm Norwich? Lambert just over the angle? Nearly every game a Lambert free kick is saved or hits the woodwork.

He chipped the keeper against Newcastle and hit the bar. I remember that.

I rest my case, none have come close to hitting the net, not through lack of trying though, I will concede that. How about a corner going straight in, that would make a change.
