Yeah, getting those two match-fit has got to be a priority for us. Having them back in the New Year would be like having two new signings!
Players not starting at the moment: Cudicini; Corluka, Dawson, Bassong, Rose; Lennon, Huddlestone, Livermore, Kranjcar; Defoe, Pavlyuchenko. Also Gomes, Pienaar and Dos Santos, plus a host of youngsters.
We could've done with them in the Europa League (unless your name is Tom Carroll or Jake Livermore, anyway...)
They weren't the only ones, Croydon. We missed a lot of players in that competition, as I'm sure people are bored with me pointing out. Injuries to Sandro, Pienaar and Kranjcar were notable and Corluka and Pavlyuchenko's failure to turn up didn't help, either.
