Watched the Abbaye on Channel 4 earlier, Maarek did well to win from his draw and needed every yard of the 5 furlong trip.
Looks genuinely testing doesn't it? Had a few quid on LesstalkinParis there and she had no answer in the last few yards - just couldn't respond.
one decent bet for me at kelso 4.15.presenting junior going for the hatrick and the opposition aint up to much some im expecting another win here.thanks to roto tipping up maarek i'll be investing some profits in the form of ruler of the world ew in the big one.
Little e/w dabble on Wilshire Boulevard in the next at Longchamp - think the ground and trip will suit him.
VUJIYAMA could be worth a punt in the first at Uttoxeter. Not sure how French bumper form equates but he comes from the right connections and a few at the top of the market have question marks over them!
Channel 4 showed the 1986 Arc, the strongest line-up ever for the race, I wanted Dancing Brave to win and he duly obliged! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=006B8vgTLs0
Back from Bierfest early, too bloody crowded on this last day. Do not agree at all that the 1986 line-up was the strongest ever, no way. For me, it has to be the 1965 running, won by the great Sea Bird, which had an enormous selection of winners of top-class races. This was the strongest running of the race ever, for me.
I guess you're right. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_Bird#1965:_three-year-old_season "In the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, Sea-Bird faced a very strong field, including Irish Derby winner Meadow Court, Preakness winner Tom Rolfe, French Derby (Prix du Jockey Club) winner Reliance, Prix de Diane winner Blabla and Russian Derby winner Anilin. Starting at odds of 6/5, Sea Bird won easily despite veering across the track, with jockey Pat Glennon patting him down the neck in the final 100 yards, by six lengths (though photographs of the finish show it to have been closer to four and a half lengths) from Reliance. Five lengths further back in third place was Diatome (though photographs show it to have been closer to four lengths), who went on to win the Washington, D.C. International. Fourth place went to Free Ride, fifth was Anilin and sixth was Tom Rolfe.[17]"
london-man: Yes, it was an incredibly strong field. I had the full list of achievements of each and every runner at one time, but I've lost it! There was even a 1000 or 2000 Guineas (can't remember which) winner in the race. However, i take nothing away from Dancing Brave whose win in 1986 was breathtaking, for sure.
ROTO: We had the forecast and I didn't do it! I really hope Al Kazeem runs a good one here! Bad draw, but fingers crossed.
Hello lads. What a day of action.Mixed reports about the ground,no wide margin winners so far but it isn't ideal. Great ride by CS in the last and a good result for racing overall. Oddy,PM a bottle of Becks out of your winnings.
The excitement is building up here. Amanda and I shouting for her "little ****", praying he behaves today. My wife shouting for Treve. Pissed off we aren't there.
CAP ELORN the gift that keeps on giving! Was running off 89 when I put it up on here as being well handicapped. Four timer completed today with todays win being off 110...! Rally and Dakar Run very disappointing today.
