Yep, but losing 30% of our remaining fixtures and still getting there, is somewhat different to "we must win every game to get 4th"

 

I still believe we need to win em all.

 

Say we win our game in hand which is actually Sunderland at the weekend seeing as Arsenal play their semi final and then play Hull on Tuesday then we will be 2 points ahead with at least 6 better goal difference. Therefore if arsenal won their remaining 5 fixtures whereas we won 4 and drew 1 then we'd have the exact same points.

It could really go down to goal difference.

The maximum Arsenal can attain is 79 points and we have a +5 GD advantage over them, which if held, would mean 5 wins and a draw would mathematically be enough, assuming they won all 5 of their remaining fixtures.

They've won 2 out of their last 9 in the league, so their form wouldn't suggest that they're on the cusp of 5 straight league wins....

 

And that season the spread from 1st to 4th was the closest its ever been since 4 CL spots were introduced at 11pts.

It's currently 10 and if you win your game in hand it will be 8!

That points, to a very good chance the record of 76 for 4th, could be beaten this term IMO.

 

Arsenal would have to win 4 and draw 1 on their remaining 5 to beat it and we'd have to win 4 and draw 2 of our remaining 6, as a minimum.

Next up Arsenal play the FA Cup and you play Sunderland. Get at least a draw against them, then just match Arsenal's remaining results

75 will probably be enough imo, a lot might end up depending on whether Norwich are safe or not on the final day.

I think 4 wins and a draw would defo be enough, meaning we could lose to City, draw at Southampton, but we'd have to win the rest.
