5 years today we drew 0-0 with Charlton to book our place in the Prem.

    Where are they now?

    Marshall
    McNaughton
    Turner
    Barnett
    Taylor
    Noone
    Kim
    Gunnarsson
    Mutch
    Bellamey
    Gestede

Subs:- Lewis, Whittingham, Cowie, Conway, Smith, Mason, Nugent.

And how many would get in the team today?

Only one still with us (as a player).
A couple thought they were upwardly mobile and a few retired.
A couple played for other clubs on the weekend.
Don't think any of them are above us in the league structure. Though where is Mutch now?

Marshall - keeping the bench warm at Hull
McNaughton - first team coach at Forfar Athletic also registered as a player
    Turner - Burton Albion
    Barnett - Northampton Town
    Taylor - Bolton Wanderers
Noone - Bolton Wanderers - scored at the weekend, first goal for them
Kim - Kawashi Reysol, J League, Japan
Gunnarsson - Still with us for now
Mutch - Vancouver Whitecaps on loan from Palace but mostly injured <doh>
Bellamy - retired, coaching our youngsters
    Gestede - Middlesboro

    Subs:- Lewis - Aberdeen
Whittingham - Blackburn Rovers, another bench warmer if not injured
    Cowie - Heart of Midlothian
    Conway - Blackburn Rovers
Smith - retired, now a pundit
Mason - Colorado Rapids, on loan from Wolves
    Nugent - Gillingham

Not many forward steps there. None currently in Prem and only Marshall, Mutch and Gestede have played there after leaving us.

Even in their pomp not many of those would get in our current side. Maybe one or two players better than what we have, but not Warnock players.

McNoughton would be a decent fit and possibly mutch. Bellers would fit in, though hoilett would then have to do it off the bench. Cowie would also be at least a squad player.

To be honest only Bellamy and Mutch were good enough for the Prem.

Bellamy... been there, done that, got the Tshirt.
Mutch ... lost his way could have been much better.

Most of the rest were good Championship pros.

I agree about Mutch's skill, but unless Warnock could put a grenade up his arse, I doubt he'd figure in his side. Mutch could do the business no problem, his vision and ball control were on a par with anything in the Championship at that time.

Trouble was he went missing all too often when things weren't going his way, seemed lazy and disinterested - Warnock wouldn't put up with that.

Warnock failed with Tomlin, a similarly gifted player who wanted to, but physically couldn't - Mutch could do it physically, but didn't always want to.

Wonder how / if Colin would have dealt with bothroyd and Chopra? Those two and bellamy together with Warnocks style would be some handful. Chops and bellamy didn't mind chasing lost causes. Didn't Chopra win a penalty when the ball was in our half after hounding a keeper?
