    Will never forget the fantastic performances Given had for us and wish him all the best, as its been said though just a shame its for Villa and their scumbox of a club.

    Something else we can thank Ashley and co for....

    Even if his form does dip in a couple years time, I'm sure they could find someone in need of an experienced keeper they could sell him on to...after all, West Brom managed to sell Carson

    I know where you're coming from, but he spent a long time with us through a load of great and crap years. He left at a time when he was one of few who still gave a crap and while you could argue that could have stayed for the fans, there were some games in particular where he must have felt like he was wasting his time playing with people who didn't care at all.
    Personally I don't have a problem with that considering the great service he gave us for so many years but I did find it pretty amusing that he was on the bench for the whole season of our return, watching Harper perform admirably in his place from the touchline behind young Hart.

    Just a shame he's gone to Aston Vile :/ They seem to be milking it abit on their website aswell. 7 stories, all to do with Given lol

    I get the feeling Villa might struggle next season anyway losing Young & Downing.

    Kinda ironic that he left us to get European football and now has ended up at villa, a team who haven't had European football for longer than us!

    Okay, he was a good keeper during his time at Newcastle, but let's not forget the times he whined when Harper had a run in the team. Let's also not forget that he was the first one out of the door when things were really getting bad in 08/09. Most of the other players were mercenaries, but they still put in at least some amount of effort to try to avoid the drop.

    The fact that his career has gone down the pan since leaving serves him right. I personally hope he has an absolutely dreadful time at Villa.
