    You can see the reasoning behind it, especially for lower-league teams - but I would have thought it should be the individual team's choice how many sub to include.

    It will save money, (but not massive amounts), such as many contracts the subs actually get paid win bonues, is even they aren't used, as well as things like hotel bills at away matches as one less room is needed. I would say though, the benefits of the experience for these younger players outweigh the extra expense. As someone mentioned, maybe they could make it that these 2 spaces HAVE to be youngsters, possibly from the Academy!

    Can anyone remember the season that substitutes were introduced? And the particular condition under which one player was allowed to be substituted for another? And Watford's first 'used' substitute?
