Hopefully we can get Joelinton and Willock back for GW9 after the international break for Palace at home.
We really really need to stop playing Anderson at CM. The lad is out of his depth. He should only be playing as a LW.
He also leaves gaping holes in us from a defensive perspective. He doesn't fit into our 4-3-3 system unless playing as LW.
I'd say the issue is the 3 of them are made of lead. I agree he's better further fwd but atm Howes got 4 to pick from so Anderson will have to get time in cm. Other teams can just run straight through our cms and once passed they're gone. Our side overall is far too slow.
Ask yourself this - if we'd had Emery, Mourinho, De Zerbi or similar in charge, would we have bought Livramento, Barnes and Hall last Summer? We lack pace, coherence and balance. And spent £150m to get worse.
When trippier gets injured or needs a rest the Livramento signing will make complete sense and Hall will be our 1st choice left back once Burn has been phased out without upsetting the group too much. Pace is a big issue we've got one or two fast players up front, bit absolutely none anywhere else.
Back 4 and keeper pick themselves, after that I'd go: Bruno - Tonali - Joelinton Migs/Flash------------Willock -------------Isak Willock rotating with Joelinton but also seems to have a great understanding with Isak. Miggy/Flash, Barnes, Wilson, Longstaff and Livarmento/Hall coming off the bench would be the 5 subs nearly every game as well.
I have a worrying feeling about who they'll sell because it won't be Barnes and it won't be Gordon. They've overloaded the left hand side and very soon isak Wilson and Barnes will be unhappy. I read Barcelona want Isak.... Newcastle will have to sell their best players to go again..... the likes of longstaff Murphy Burn etc will be here for years if not another decade.
Depends on who’s bringing the transfers in. If EH then no they wouldn’t have been brought in. If the scouting team brought them in then it doesn’t matter who the manager is
Funny coz I’d heard it was Real Madrid that were sniffing. Choice between Joselu or Isak is quite a simple one. Unless your Howe in which case he’d bench Isak for 6 months prior to kicking a ball if you believe some
I struggle to name the "midfield 5". It just lacks clarity or balance. I think Tonali and Bruno should be playing together as a double pivot. It works well for Brazil, again mystifying we saw fit to pay £53m for Tonali but couldn't find £40m for Paqueta, Bruno's best mate and Intl team mate. Who the **** is doing transfers at this club? Anyway, double pivot but who can play AM? Not sure anyone can. You can't go 4-4-2/4-2-4 because we 100% play "inverted wingers" (whether it works or not). But Isak suits a 4-2-3-1 as well, because he'd have support. Again, couldn't find £40m fr Maddison (imagine him in the '10') but could find £35m for Barnes, who we didn't need. There's no identity here so we have a squad that's not fit for purpose. All of which is irrelevant - we'll play 4-3-3 til the end of (Howe's) time. So as we've seen it's going to stay: Tonali (Longstaff) - Bruno - Joelinton (Willock) Almiron (Murphy) - Isak (Wilson) - Gordon (Barnes) I'd just go: Tonali - Bruno Willock - Gordon - Joelinton Isak
