realistically though Pool have them both at home and Imo they will win both so they will probably get it,still cant rule out Newcastle

I couldn't bear it if either Arsenal or 'Pool got 4th. I want AFC out of the CL to remove their smug belief that they will always be in that competition, and I want 'Pool to continue their absence from the CL for many seasons to come.
If Toon cannot maintain it's push for 4th, then I'd settle for Chelsea finishing 4th. It will be comforting to know to that, although they will be playing a qualifier to get into the competition proper, they will only have just scrapped it, a long, long way behind us.

It would be better if Liverpool manage 4th this season (and then fail next season) because it would mess up Chelsea & Arsenal, in fact if the three were only to manage 4th on an on off basis over the next few seasons it would give a chance to other teams to break this boring mold.
To start a season with say 10 teams in with a chance to win or finish in CL places would be better for the game.

The irony is that, should Arsenal finish fourth, Wenger will be guaranteed to remain another year and continue wreaking havoc on their squad and tactics - qualifying for the Champions League will be the worst thing to happen to them in the short term.
Of course, they could always finish fourth, choke in the qualifier, and get dumped in the Europa League...

No danger of that for a while - the coefficient is based on the last 5 years and England are currently well ahead of Spain for the basic country coefficient that determines qualifying places.

PESKIE will see it as a vindication of all he's been lecturing his board on, this season.
For our and the benefit of the Gooner rank and file, it's best that AFC finish outside the CL places and Whinger leaves.
Hopefully, then, PESKIE, in a pique of shame, will resign as Arsenal board mod, and never darken this board ever again.

I think that the first step would be that 3rd would only qualify a team for the qualifiers, like it used to.
We'd have to have a couple of seasons like this one too before that happens.
I couldn't bear to see pool or arsenal get fourth! Just thinking of a few of my liverpool "mates" who would think they were world beaters. It's allready annoying enough how they think that caroll isn't a donkey! So by process of elimination it would have to be chelsea...
