And writes off the clubs debt, backs every manager, buys low, sells high....

He's been good for the club overall make no mistake, it actually baffles me that you lot have an issue.

Both times you went down you did so with the manager yous all wanted having a team full of internationals.

How the **** is that a businessmans fault?

Buys low, sells high? Yes exactly, we're a business, not a club anymore, nobody wanted Carroll and Cabeye to be sold as they were both our best players at the time, but the opportunity to get a fat pile of cash was more important than success on the field. Backs every manager? His record is mainly bringing in poor or average managers that are available for free (Kinnear, McClaren, Pardew) and having signings imposed on them rather than them being backed.

Saying we went down with the managers we wanted is ridiculous and stupid, on both occasions the damage had been done before they came in, in 09 the club was in a mess due to Ashley forcing Keegan out and bringing in that imbecile Kinnear, last season he took a massive gamble on McClaren just cos he was available for free, he had been a complete failure for years, and was given far too long before he was sacked. Don't for one second make out Ashley had nothing to do with the relegations.

Ashley wants us to finish in the bottom half of the Prem every season, not getting into Europe so he doesn't have to spend more, no chance of winning anything, constantly selling off our best players, no ambition, just use us to rake in the TV money and advertise SD. This has already resulted in 2 relegations, how is having no ambition and being in constant danger of relegation good for the club? The balance sheet yes, but not the club or the fans.

Yeah Ashley's a right ****, come in and saved a club on the brink of collapse from financial ruin, a few years later he's got them as one of the best-run clubs in the world financially.

Sorry lads, it's no wonder you lot as a fan base get such bad press, I mean come on, you're probably gonna take a relegation in your stride, taking a massive boot in the fanny financially and it'll be nothing more than a bump in the road due to how well your club is run.

If you were relegated under your previous regime, make absolutely no mistake about it you'd have been run into the ground and banged around by HMRC like a £10 slut.

Are you Ashley's PR stooge or something?

Do you actually believe that horseshit about the club being on the brink of collapse? We were in debt, but so is every other club, we weren't about to fold, that's more PR bollocks from Ashley.

Yes, one of the best-run clubs in the world FINANCIALLY. But funnily enough fans go to watch games, not review the finer points of the club's profit and loss report. It doesn't matter that he doesn't give a **** about the team, and is just using to us to make money and advertise Sports Direct, all that needs to matter is the club's financial running. Woop-de-****ing-do.

No Newcastle fan likes Ashley and he is not good for our club, maybe if you look a bit further than Ashley's press releases you'll see why.

Predictions that though init mate, leeds have been on the brink of financial ruin for the last 10 years, still going. There problem also remains there owner. Thing is at no point did I moan about the finances, I moaned about the **** way this club has been run in a football sense and, you know, that's what I'm watching every week, not the bank balance.
Sunderland fans can moan at a guy who has actually pumped a fair bit of money into a club (OK maybe not this year) that remains in the top league iith no suggestion they're going under financially if they go down. Should I tell them to go check the books? Nar. You want me to sit around feeling grateful because years of underspending in the prem means we can overspend in the champ?
We got relegated and sung rafas praises! but cos we have never liked an owner, who actually apologised to our fans for his decisions, we are deluded.
My question is this, can I rename your teams ground to asda price arena if I tell you I'll keep you afloat mostly just surviving in the premier league before actually getting relegated?
Think like a fan not an accountant

Football IS business now though and you can't compete if your club isn't run as one.

Even back to Newcastle coming back as a big club under Hall that was simply down to his financial backing, which again comes down to business.

I hear lads with no teeth in Lonsdale trainers bought from Ashley's store calling him an idiot. Idiots don't make £7billion, they call billionaires idiots.

Ashley is clearly an excellent business man (hence his fortune), but prior to buying Newcastle wasn't a public figure, indeed despite his businesses massively successful, no one even knew what he looked like.

As a public figure though and in terms of running the club in a non-financial sense, he's a clueless imbecile and should delegate anything PR related to a proper team who know how to do it properly.

Has he ever been a hands on owner?

Sorry mate but you lot are a ****ing joke of a fanbase, crying cos your owner isn't some sort of media darling. His other business is a juggernaut of a company, you're a minnow by comparison, it's no wonder he uses the club to advertise SD.com, it's the least he's entitled to after putting up with you lot for 10 years.

    <laugh>

My job was done...beautifully as well. Hooked a few....as much as some of what others followed up with is true, there is sometimes a time to know when not to have a nibble. The course of the thread changed tack completely.....from 46 minutes to Ashley. Plant the seed and leave while the going is good.

And with that, I'm out <laugh>
